Question about Epson TM-H60000II Thermal Printer

1 Answer

My Clarion application sends codes directly to the (TM-H6000II) printer. I need to print in Hebrew but the printer seems to insist on Greek (I think!). I added the following code to the printer start: LinePrint('<27,29,116,862>',GLO:ReceiptPrinterPort) but it doesn't help. Your assistance and would be appreciated.

Hello! You got it wrong. The application software is mine. I am writing the application. No I am not using any fonts. This is an ESCPOS printer, it does not need special firmware. ESCPOS uses character codes, not fonts or firmware. My program is in Clarion. Just think of it as a DOS copy command. I have successfully used my code on an Epson TM88IV. I now need code or a method to employ Character Code 862 on my TM-H6000III. From the website, I had understood that you know the TN-H6000?!

No you got this way wrong! ESCPOS printers use character sets! Look at the manuals, they are all over the web! Hebrew is 862! No firmware, no fonts! Welcome to the world of ESCPOS! Hey, come on! I have my application working on a TM 88IV without a problem. I thought you KNOW the TM H6000II printer?! The application is mine, I wrote it and it works but I now need it to run on a TM-H6000II, simple as that. Think of it in terms of DOS. Can you please make me a .bat file that will work and I can take it from there?

This most likely requires that you get the Hebrew Font set from the Manufacturer and install it in the Printer Firm ware or update the Hebrew Font Set in your computer software. Either should resolve your problem. The printing that you currently see is, without actually seeing it, the result of the printer trying to print character codes that it does not recognize. I would try updating the Firmware in your printer first then if that failed update the Hebrew Font codes and character set and install that. Epson should have the download on their website. The information you need for the software Font download will depend on what software you are using.

There is no .bat file that can give your printer the proper codes to print the characters you want. You have a choice. Download and incorporate the Hebrew font into your program or put them on the printer you are using so it can understand your code. The code for the Hebrew "A" is not the same as the code for teh English "A". If your program is sending the correct code to the printer and the printer isn't printing it correctly it is because your printer doesn't recognize the code. Good Luck.

I just finished reading your second post. I thought you understood the basics of programming and how to properly send character sets or the fact that character set = Font style since you wrote your own program. I am unlocking your question as the problem is not your printer, it is your code.

I am trying to send a dos file for printing to epson fx-2190. althought i have set the character table to 437-Greek my printer does not print greek alphabet

You would probably need to set the printer DIP switches to print Greek, however it is quite possible that this is not possible. Get hold of the printer DIP Switch settings and check. Alternately you will have to try the exercises using a GUI operating system to print the selected font style.
