Question about Tally LA500 Matrix Printer

"check tractor" error

I have a Genicom LA500 that was brought to me for service. When it is first turned on, just after the display says "Starting Up", it immediately changes to "Check Tractor". The printhead, etc does not cycle at all. I have no experience with these printers and can't seem to find anything online. Any suggestions?

Here's some more info. It spontaneously started working again for no apparent reason. I turned it on and off numerous times throughout the day and it just kept working. The next morning it continued working for a while but then, as quickly as it had started working, it stopped again... doing the same thing.

Tally Genicom T8008 Printer shows SVC Error. Pls what is the solution

Here's what the owner's manual has to say:
A printer error has been detected.
[Action] Turn off the printer, wait five seconds or
more, and turn on the printer again. If this
message appears often, contact your
dealer or TallyGenicom.
Your error code should be followed by 3 numbers. You'll need those to more precisely determine the error.

New gas and oil, filter cleaned, spark from sparkplug strong, but mower won't start.

Try jump starting it, with a trickle charger. Once you have to do this though, changes are that you'll have to keep doing this. You'll have to replace the battery. In the future, in cold weather areas of the country, batteries should be removed from the tractor and brought inside. In other areas, starting the tractor periodically during the winter will help keep the battery charged.

It's not a float problem the tractor won't turn over. it was running good yesterday. i brought the battery in to have it checked and they told me that it was the starter. ichanged the starter and all it...

It sounds like either the battery has a loose ground connection or bad positive connection, clean both of these connections at the battery and where they attach on the tractor, and if this is not the problem the solonoid might be bad, you can test the starting circuit by taking a set of jumper cables and attaching the groun to a good ground at the starter, like the mounting bolt and then attach the positve cable to the positive post of the charged battery and touching thelarge bolt that is entering the starter at the base of the solonoid. Hope this helps don

How do you clear print buffer on Genicom 4440XT printer?

The buffer on the 4440XT can be cleared by powering the printer OFF and then back on again.
You may however find print jobs are held in the spooler on the computer system and will simply reprint when you turn the printer back on again, you will need to check the spooler on the system also to delete any unwanted print jobs.

Brought c5180 two 1/2 years ago. starting using product 8 months ago, printed maybe 500 pages. replace ink when needed. now printer say i need to replace cyan ink which i did twice. brought it in for...

Complete the steps below in the order presented to resolve the problem. It might not be necessary to complete all of the steps.
NOTE: The printer will not operate unless all six ink cartridges are installed. Also, HP cannot guarantee the quality of refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges. Step one: Reset the printer CAUTION: Do NOT perform any other type of reset on the printer before the ink initialization process has been completed.
  1. Without turning the power off, remove the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall socket.
  2. Wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cord to the printer and to the wall socket. Turn the unit on if it is not already turned on.
  3. Check the printer for the error message. If the error message still displays, go to the next step.
Step two: Clean the cartridge contacts
  1. Lift the top cover. Figure 1: Lifting the top cover c00372271.gif
  2. Locate the ink cartridge indicated in the error message. Squeeze the gray tab below the cartridge slot to release the latch and then lift the latch. Figure 2: Unlatching the cartridge c00372272.gif 1 - Black cartridge 2 - Color cartridges
  3. Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message. Figure 3: Removing the cartridge c00372273.gif
  4. Gather the following cleaning materials:
    • Distilled, filtered, or bottled water. Do not use tap water, alcohol, or platen cleaners.
    • Lint-free cloth or swab. Eyeglass wipes and coffee filters work well.
  5. Lightly moisten the swab or cloth and squeeze out the excess moisture.
  6. Holding the cartridge by its handle, wipe the copper contacts. Figure 4: Wiping the contacts c00372274.gif 1 - Copper contacts
  7. Replace the cartridge and then close the latch and the printer top cover.
  8. Check the printer for the error message. If the error message still displays, go to the next step.
NOTE: The printer may take up to 15 seconds to clear the error and recognize the cartridge after closing the cover.
Step three: Replace the cartridge If the error message still displays, replace the indicated cartridge with a new cartridge.
Or Please let me know what is the exact error message you are getting.

ERROR

921 Fuser Error Indicates that the fuser is below standby temperature when the printer is idle.
Error codes 920, 921, and 922 may display for a cold fuser failure. A 920 error caused by low line voltage can sometimes be cleared by turning the machine off and then on again.
Service Tip: Set the Fuser Temperature to NORMAL before starting this service check.
Manually spin the fan and check that
it rotates freely. Check the cable
connection to the engine board, J13
for correct installation.
