Freezer has accumulated frost along top of door. Refrigerator isn't cold although it is at its coldest setting.

check the thermistors ..Check ur cold control thermostat, ur thermistors in both fridge and freezer ( they should be checked for both ohms and for amount of current being put out as per ur model ), ur air flow vent from freezer to fridge.( to make sure it opens and closes without any restrictions) On thermistors check for A close circuit and amount of ohms not just an Ohm reading. As per ur model. Most should atleast show 1200 ohms. Also Check door seals for leakage.
Evaporator coils
Poor cooling is often the result of a heavy frost build-up on the evaporator coils. You can't see these coils without removing a panel on the inside of your freezer. A sure sign that there is a build-up is the presence of any frost or ice build-up on the inside walls, floor, or ceiling of the freezer. Such a frost build-up usually indicates a problem in the self-defrosting system or damaged door gaskets.
If one of the components in the self-defrosting system fails, the refrigerator continues to try to cool. Eventually, though, so much frost builds up on the evaporator coils that the circulating fan can't draw air over the coils. There may still be a small amount of cooling because the coils are icy, but with no air flow over the coils, cooling in the refrigerator compartment is quite limited.

FAN check to see if it is operating or restricted A fan that is not blowing or restricted will not circulate the cold air properly.

Often, the first thing that folks do when their refrigerator starts to feel warm is turn both controls on the coldest settings.This is exactly the WRONG thing to do.Turning the cold control to the coldest settingwillkeep the compressor running longer and make lots of cold air.

But turning the air door to the coldest settingclosesthe airway to the food section. Lots of cold air is made, but most of it stays in the freezer section, and the food section actually getswarmer.

Good Afternoon Brian - Being that you have a top mount, the vent in the freezer is what circulates air down to the Fresh Food section, making it cool. Also keep in mind that if the garage is above 110 degrees, your refrigerator will have difficulties performing optimally due to un-circulating air. You can purchase the garage kit by going to the manufacturer website and clicking on "Filters and Accessories". Alternatively, you may be able to purchase this kit from the dealer where you purchased your appliance. Here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:

1. First check clearances around your refrigerator. There must be adequate space around a refrigerator with a static condenser so that air can circulate properly. Proper clearances include 1" at the back and 3" on top of the refrigerator.

2. Examine your doors. If the doors have been opened too often or for too long, this may have allowed warm air to enter the refrigerator. Make sure to shut the door completely and be sure not to keep the door open for too long. Even leaving a door slightly open can allow too much warm air intake. Make sure refrigerator is level and keep food and containers from blocking the door closing.

3. Check the door seal. You do this by placing a dollar bill between the body of the refrigerator or freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet, double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything that may be stopping it from closing. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then replace the gasket. (Most appliance owners can easily do this without any tools or sealant.)

4. Check to see if the condenser is dirty. A dirty condenser cannot release heat efficiently into the surrounding air. Cleaning the condenser may be necessary, more if you have animals in the house. If you have condenser coils, they should be wiped occasionally with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. 5. Check for any obstructions to the vent to ensure proper air flow. If the vent is blocked, the air in the refrigerator will not get cool.

6. Double check the freezer control. If the freezer control is set too warm, set freezer control to a colder setting and allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize.

I agree with the tech. if the refriderator isn't frosting it isn't working,their is only 1fan and its in the freezer,The tech could have missed some frost build up that is blocking the air flow into the fresh food section,if he removed all the frost it could take up to 24 hours to get cold ,it should slowly geta bit colder throughout the day,if by tomorrow its still not working have the tech come back and check for frost build up on the vents for air flow into fresh food compartment.
To reiderate their is two types of refrigerators,one that you have to manually defrost and a automatic defrost type where the defrost system which is comprised of the defrost heater,timer&termination t-stat will automatically melt the frost

a little door from freezer to fridge gets frosted shut. you need to defrost the freezer then run it on a medium temp not the coldest setting. also make sure to not over fill the wall in between the freezer and the refrigerator. (thats where the air crosses over) unlessp u have an over and under freezer refrige set up in which case your little door is in the floor of the top compartment and the roof of the bottom one. good luck

The refrigerator coos from the bleed over from the freezer, See if the fan in the freezer is working properly and the crossover duct/vet is not obstructed or close.. Ck to make sure the control in the fridge is working,

Then turn off the refrigerator for a few hours until the heavy frost melts away. turn on the refrigerator check the refrigeration cycle, is it working properly, is it going into defrost are the defrost heaters working.

This channel has a door which regulates how much cold air goes through. You probably have two control knobs in the Ref side, one controls the temp with numbers 1-9, 9 being the coldest. This temp control tells the compressor how long to run. The other control is for that little door and it may have letters A-E, E being the coldest. If you set it on E (coldest) then this will close that little door and keep most the cold air in the freezer.
So, how can the Ref side be cold and the freezer side not freezing?

1. Coolant leak. There is enough coolant to keep the Ref side cool but not enough to freeze on the freezer side.

Now, why is that cold air not getting over to the Ref side?
1. The little door is not open.
check your control setting. You should be able to feel air coming through the channel on the Ref side.

2. The fan in the freezer is not working.
You can hear this fan running when you open the freezer.

3. The coils on the freezer side are clogged with ice which won't let the fan circulate the air over to the Ref side.
This is a failure of the defrost system.

If there is no frost on the freezer side it may be low on coolant.
