Try turning on the ignition, turning on the stereo, and waiting for one hour (don't touch any buttons).
After one hour "SAFE" mode should deactivate and you can enter the code. That is most likely located in the glove compartment. if you do not have the code you can try to disconnect the battery for 30 minutes then reconnect it. Also you can call your local VW dealership tell them your vin and they can lookup your code. Thanks,Midwest-tek
