Calibration code must be entered when the tv is off. so enter:

mute, 1, 8, 2, and power button.

Your TV should go into the settings menu when it comes on. To get out of the screen you usually have to turn the tv off and back on again.

Comet Shredder Comet CM-C-100 will not turn on.

The 'tension ' bar is probably to ensure you have not put in too many sheets at a time, and cuts out if you do. Look at how the bar is fixed at one end then try to reconnect the other end. A good shake of the unit should loosen and free whatever is rattling. If you cannot fix it I doubt Comet will give you much help

Shortly after turning on my 2007 samsung 42" LCD TV, the sound turns off.

Since you just changed signal source (from what I understand) your first goal should be to determine if the problem is in your TV or your signal source, i.e. directv receiver (and btw aren't directv satellite and not cable service?!).

You do that by trying another source for the TV - DVD, blue-ray, over-the-air antenna, anything that is not your new sound source.

Once you know the sound is broken down by the TV and not the TV receiver (or the other way around) you can proceed with troubleshooting.

Blank screen , sound only . TV now written off by Comet . Engineer says a New Invertor is not available.. isn't this part of the Power supply. Are they still availlable for this 2007...

Hi Frank,

Depends where you look. Comet have a list of appointed suppliers for electronic components. If those suppliers don't have / cant get a particular component, as far as they're concerned, it's no longer available. This doesn't mean it's unobtainable, but Comet aren't going to start searching the internet or asking non-appointed suppliers for it.

It took me less than 2 minutes to locate 2 for you from UK suppliers, 1 new, 1 used. I could probably find some more, if I looked a bit harder.

TV has gone into "protect mode" to do just that to protect against the damaging failure that has been detected, you will need a servicer to diagnose the failure. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

One week old? did you ever think about taking it back to the store where you bought it?? would be my first choice. unless you want a bunch of crazy answers or taking it to an authorized repair shop and waiting a few months for parts to come in and more time for the repair to take place.
