SOURCE: where will i find the hydraulic filter on my

The filter and suction strainer should be behind the hitch or "lift" cover. There will be a paper filter element normally with a suction screen under it. Be sure to pull the suction screen and clean the area surrounding it. You may be able to call your the Ford/New holland dealer for your area and get a little more precise information also. As I recall these are common sump with the transmission, but I could be mistaken on that. Best regards, Marvin

SOURCE: ford 4000 hydraulic problems

First, make sure there is plenty of hydraulic oil in the reservoir
2nd, no leaks that are dumping the pressure
3rd, no blockage in tubes, located inside pump housing.
4th, make sure operating handle is engaging
try these and if nothing works let me know.

1966 ford 4000 tractor leaking milky white hydraulic fluid out of where the gear shift is. looks like foam

The "milky foam look" is a CLASSIC sign that there is water (or maybe antifreeze) mixed in with something that has a petroleum base ... such a oil or hydraulic fluid!

Where can I find parts and instructions on how to repair the hydraulic rear remote level selector on a ford 4000 1965 Gas Row crop tractor?

what ive found on these oldies are that they borrowed the seals from there car/truck line , me id remove the leaking seal and take it with you and find an autoparts guy that's willing to look up an item by size/description then I bet you could buy a seal that would work for you

also for seals/bearings a company called timkin has a fantastic web site that allows one to get a part number by size !!!

WHERE DO I ADD HYDROLUIC FLUID IN A FORD 30000 Tractor

On the floor pan next to the gear shiftier you will see a raised
BOLT, unscrew and you will find a screen filter inside, take filter out and clean with diesel fuel, replace filter. You can add the hydraulic
fluid there as well. NOTE: Purchase a owners manual on ebay they are important to have, and will more than pay themselves.

What type of fluid in used in 1971 ford 4000

The 1970 ford 4000 had 3 engine options; gas, diesel, and lp. If there is no canister that looks like a propane tank then it is gas or diesel. A gas engine will have spark plugs and wires and the diesel will not. The only fluid that is going to be different is what kind of fuel it runs on. Any dealership that sells tractors should be able to show you how to service yours. Manuals are available on line. And next time specify what fluid you are talking about; transmission, hydraulic, coolant, break, power steering, etc. We can't read minds.

The 3 point linkage on a ford 4000 tractor is only lifting half way and stopping with weight on it. what would be the problem?

I am not an expert nor have much experience - just a guess - low on hydraulic fluid? Check hydraulic fluid reservoir, if any, for correct level of fluid. Add correct fluid if necessary. If really low - suggests a possible leak somewhere. Should check for that as well.
