Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

Greetings. I acquired a TV/LCD monitor Inno-Hit model IH-L50DX, that presents a peculiar problem. Up until a couple of months ago it served as a TV monitor, connected via 21-pin SCART cable to a digital cable decodifier, provided by our then cable company. Recently we changed to another TV services provider, which uses IPTV as its protocol. The TV was still connected to a decodifier via the same 21-pin SCART cable, but in this case no TV image appears on screen. The monitor still works fine when connected to a computer, or when connected to a cable TV provider. Any help you can give would be most appreciated Regards Rui A.

SOURCE: LCD monitor produces some bursting and cracking sound. Service centre or technician address req

One of your CCFL tubes inside the monitor is broken.
This causes arcing at the connector to the powerboard of the CCFL tube.

It would of suffered a drop etc in transit for this to happen. It is extremely rare they just break like that new.

Contact your place of purchase, and they should be able to arrange a swap immediatly.

SOURCE: please help

Either the logic board or the power supply have failed and in either event I would strongly urge that you not even attempt the repair and just go purchase another (BETTER) Tv... I don't often tell people this check my posts. But that unit is simply riddled with problems and VERY VERY difficult to get parts for.. Samsung or Hitachi have some good bottom end LCD's (we in the industry call throw-aways) comparable in price and FAR better Tv's than the one you have there...

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.
It's not unusual for this type of electronics to only last a couple of years.

Hi Richard,

This may only end up as one step in several of trobleshooting, but it's worth it for you to take this approach. Disconnect the monit(or and take it to a neaby friend's house (wo serves good cocktails) and connect the monitor to his/her conputer. Ids the same symptons present themselves in in a few minutes, you've unquestionably narrowed the problem to the monitor, and it means it has elements inside that have worn to the degree that a new monitor is advisable.

If your monitor performs just fine and at some appreciable length of time that this seems the inescaple conclusion, you immediately know that your computer is heating up at the video/processor area and shutting off all video presentation in order to reduce heat and save the mainboard/motherboard from a meltdown of the tiny circuits in that area using the inbuilt heat sensor and auro-shutdown feature it contains.

I apologize for your issue not being addressed sooner. The techs here realized that there's no instant gratification in a "solution" like I've written, so they moved on.

Therefore, please refrain from giving me 2 thumbs up while you go and carefully get this figured out. 2 thumbs reduces my rating percentage for telling you the exact way to find out about your problem for free. I prefer you leave no feedback until you do so.

Kind Regards,
