Seal on door(s) seems to be bad. Can't keep doors closed properly. Does the seal have to be replaced? It isn't covered under the extended warranty.

Reason for door codes on a frigdaire front load dryer

Assuming door seal is good, make sure there is nothing "caught" under the seal that prevents the door from closing properly. Otherwise, look for anything else that would contribute to that issue. Possibly the door switch that turns on the interior light and acts as a safety for a door open situation may not be operating properly. See my "generic" tip for "buzzing" dryer issues.

Freezer door won't close tightly and frost builds up

This is quite often caused by several factors ...
1] Worn door seals [REPLACE them] ...
2] Rusted door PINS [in older units] and/or worn PLASTIC BUSHES that support these pins [REPAIR or REPLACE them] ...
3] MISALIGNED and/or WARPED door [mostly in older units and/or if the kids hang off the door (especially young children) over an extended time ...
MOST doors are easily removed [but some are quite heavy and/or have electrical wiring/water lines etc. inside] so be careful. Usually you will need to remove the TOP hinge [screws usually under cover-plate] and then gently raise and lift-off the door from its bottom hinge pin. If you lift up the rubber door seal edge you will usually find a series of screws underneath. Just undo these to remove the inner shelf/door lining to replace the door seals. You can buy ready-made replacement seals from most major manufacturers and DIY ... or you can get a tradesman to do this for you [companies such as "SEAL A FRIDGE" can be found in your local phone directory or on-line] ...

Drain clogged on MCBR415S

Unless that fridge has an automatic defrosting cycle, NO water should be collecting at the drain area under normal circumstances. The only time that drain is needed is during defrosting (manual or auto).
Does the unit ever turn the cool cycle off or is the fridge always running (does the fridge ever stop humming)? If the fridge is always running, ice will build up in the fridge and it is either because the thermostat is broken or the door is not sealing properly allowing the cold air to escape. This can be due to something inside the fridge is preventing the door from closing properly, the door itself being not properly aligned with the fridge compartment, a broken door seal or a bend door or a bend fridge frame.
Ice can build up fast when a fridge is installed in an area with high humidity (like in Florida) and the door is opened frequently (like every 5 minutes to get a beer out, like during a house party).
If the fridge door seems to seal properly and the fridge seems to keep things cool, it might be enough to defrost the fridge to get it back in proper operating condition.
When loading the fridge, allow enough space between items, to permit the air to circulate.
Good luck :)

My Fridgidaire upright Gallery freezer is freezing my food but the appliance seems to be constantly running and the temperature control on the outside is reading 29 Celsius when it obviously isn't

Hi Susan Abboud - Modern freezers have increased storage capacity and keep more even temperature that may require the compressors to run longer but use less energy. Was the unit disconnected previously for any reason? If so, freezer requires a minimum of 4 hours to cold down completely. Confirm that the temperature control is not set too cold and that the door is not being open frequently. A dirty, cracked, worn or poorly fitted door gasket can allow warm air to enter the unit causing it to have to run longer to remove the warm air. Leaks in the door seal will cause freezer to run longer in order to maintain desired temperature. Cleaned the gasket, if it is too damage then it will need to be replace. You can check and see if the door seal is bad by, placing a dollar between the gasket and cabinet. Check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing properly. If nothing is stopping the door then replace gasket. Keep in mind that there should also be at least 4-6 in of air space on all sides of the unit. If freezer is built in or has items stored on top that cover the unit, the can cause long run times, high temperature in the freezer and premature failure to the unit. Do not block the toe grille on the lower front of the unit. Sufficient air circulation is essential for the properly operation of your freezer, about 3 inches around the unit.

The freezer keeps on building up excess ice. We have turned down the temp but it does not seem to be working. Please Help!

MOST POSSIBLE YOUR DOOR SEAL IS FAULTY. WHEN YOU CLOSE THE DOOR OF YOUR FRIZZIER OR FRIDGE OBSERVE IF THE DOOR SEAL IS WELL "SUCKED" IN. IF NOT REPLACE THE DOOR SEAL.

Door doesn't close properly, leaks water

If the door seals are still pliable and intact there are two possible causes.

1/ The upper door hinge on the top of freezer unit has two adjusting screws under a plastic cover/cap which allows the upper hinge to be set forward or back altering/adjusting the spacing of the door seal to the freezer body. Moving the hinge outward at the top will cause the door to seal tighter at the bottom and lessen escaping cold air and condensation to form (water droplets). Adjust carefully so as not to create a weak seal (air gap) along other sealing edges of the door frame.

2/ Many United Refrigeration Commercial Freezers are manual defrosting. Moisture from inside the freezer can condense between the inner molded door panel (door shelves) and the exterior metal door. Usually ice buildup will occur in this space, but when defrosting or during high ambient temps the ice will melt and drip out along the bottom door edge/seal. Screws alomg the door frame (hidden by the door seal) hold the seal in place and also the inner molded door panel. The inner panel can be removed to replace the seal or to remove the ice buildup.
