Delete name from recipient list for scanned documents

How do I delete names from the list of networked users who scan documents on this machine? We entered our network userid and network password so when we send the scanned document to a network drive, we just pick our name from a dropdown list. Several names need to be deleted and I do not know how to remove them. Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

Thanks for the suggestions but neither applies. There are no addresses in any of the address books or in one-touch addresses. Searched manually and thru IE. I even looked thru IE under Add'l. Functions/Custom Settings and found 8 of the 19 names under Sender's Names (TTI). Deleting one doesn't affect the names displayed on the printer, though, and where are the other 11 names? We may need help from the company who services our machines for this one. I still have no idea where our network login names for sending scanned documents to ourselves are stored.

Press right arrow key on copier (at far right), not the scan button.

Select "Scan to Desktop". Copy is scanned.

    Press "Send" button.

"Output File Name" appears. Type in name of file and press OK.

"Modify File Name" appears. Modify if wanted, press Next key.

"Specify recipients" appears. Select "To" button. Recipient list of names appears. This is where I want to delete names.

Select recipient name if in list. Press "Send".

If user is not in list, you sign up for your "scan to desktop account".

Enter network userid and network password.

Scans are stored on a network drive.

There are 2 ways of doing this (1) it can be done from the panel, and (2) you can do it remotely via your web browsing application (internet explorer or the like). The remote option is the easiest way.

Open your Internet Explorer (or alternative web browser) and in the address bar (where you would normally type in the address of the web site you wopuld like to visit) enter the I.P address of the machine. The I.P. address can be found on the machine by pressing the * (star) button with the head shape around it, then on the touch panel press "system settings" > "network Settings" > "TCP/IP settings" > I.P. Address.

Once the page has loaded you may be asked to select if you wish to log in as a user or as administrator. in this case, choose administrator. On the left of the page that opens click address book, and on the right hand side click the address book where the addresses are stored (you'll see there is a section that tells you how many addresses are stored in each... most likely your addresses will be stored in "address book 1" or in "One Touch Addresses"

Once you click on this the list of stored addresses will appear. to the left of each address is a small blue square. Simply click on this square and then at the top of the page on the red X. Follow the same procedure to delete any other address. when you're done, simply close the web browser.

If you choose to do it from the machines panel follow the procedure below.

1) Press the star button with the head around it
2) select "address book settings" on the panel
3) If your address are stored in one of the general address books select "Register address"
4) select the address that you wish to delete and press the "erase" button at the bottom of the screen
5) press on "yes" in the screen that appears
6) follow steps 4 and 5 to delete any other addresses

normally the erase button is grey. if it does not activate when you touch on an address, then that means the address is stored in the one touch address book. to erase these addresses follow the same procedure as above, but in step 3 select "one touch buttons"

If your machine has been configured with a "System Admin Password" and you do not know this password you may not be able to delete any address. In this case you will either need to try and find out who configured this password and get it from them, or you'll have to get a Canon Technician out to reset the passwords on the Service mode. But the good news is in most cases even if your machine has this password configured you should still be able to delete addresses

Have fun

if you're still stuck with this issue and would like me to further assist you please can you let me know the exact steps that you follow when you do a scan, up to the point where all these addresses are stored.

I install and link these machines on a daily basis and for the life of me can't think of any other place where addresses can be stored besides in the address books. The only other location where you can store names is in the mailbox feature of the machine, but this is mostly used for storing print jobs. In very rare cases this is used to store scans that can be viewed remotely, in the case of very large files that would consume a lot of bandwidth if transmitted on the network.

Hi we have just installed a gestetner asm645 (i think thats its name), and want to delete the old companies accounts as when we try to scan something it says it needs a "senders" account to scan...

can delete user accounts under system settings. Press the button marked 123(where you get your meter reading). under system settings go to administrator tools and address book managments. can delete user accounts and create new 1's. Or you can trun the user authentcation off. Then no code is needed.

Sender - under system settings go to file transfer. input your smtp and managers account email. When programing user in address book look for add as sender and input the email address. When emailing you can select sender and destination. If the user is not set up as a sender the list will be empty and you would not be able to select a sender. set up a user (email) that any one can use.

When I click the scanning button, the menu shows that it is trying to Download the Application List, but it never find the list. How can I scan with this printer?

  1. find IP address through printer: 192.168.1.103 (put in browser to bring up printer options)
  2. Check to see if computer is there within "Scan to Network Host Management" (if you are having issues with scan then delete the computer in question)
  3. Uninstall (from library lexmark folder), reinstall, go through setup assistant
  4. System Preferences: Check the firewall in the security tab
  5. System Preferences: Universal Access: Check "enable access for assistive devices"
  6. Open Lexmark Center: goto advanced: network scan settings: make sure the computer name is one word, no spaces.
it should work now

How to scan to e-mail

Hi this is kamal....

pls read and do these steps carefully.. definitely u will get solution..

SCAN DIRECTLY TO E-MAIL FROM THE MACHINE- The direct "scan to e-mail" function was the hardest thing to setup. You have to have an actual POP e-mail address for your scanner, which is how it sends PDFs or JPGs of TIF files directly from the box. Getting an e-mail account setup is simple enough, but the control panel won't recognize the servers by name, for example standard pop mail server names list POP.GMAIL.COM. Instead you have to actually convert the server names into IP addresses (I found a website somewhere that did this) and insert that IP address into the control panel.

Once setup, the scan-to-email function works just as you'd expect. But it requires way too many key strokes on the machine to actually send the document. "Are you sure, Are you really sure, Are you really really sure?" (not exact quotes, but you get the idea)

I'm in my late-twenties with a background in the tech field, yet programming this direct-to-email function had me cussing and pulling my hair out. I imagine most people will setup the network scanning application and stop there. The network scanning application is actually a lot more versitile than the direct scan-to-email, even though it requires you to have your computer turned on. But using the network scanning the document just appears, then you can forward it to whatever e-mail you want via your computer (and keep your hair).
best regards

We have a new employee. How do I change the name on "image send" to the new employee?

I am assuming you have sharpdesk or network scanner tool installed on the computer you are wanting to send a scan to.
Click on start then programs and look for sharpdesk/network scanner tool and start the NST program. Once it is open/started you should be in the "profiles" tab and there should be some profiles listed (presumably the old employees name). Put a check mark next to the ones you want to delete and click delete. this will remove them from the copiers image send. Then create a new profile (add) with the new employees name and apply the changes. Restart the copier and the employees name should show up.
