Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
After a document is scanned, the finished product appears with a thin line from top to bottom. I have had the printer since Oct 2007, today is the first time I have had the problem. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
When scanning with the document feeder a line appears on the scan. This does NOT happen if I use the scanner bed. It's a Ricoh Aficio IS330DC. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!!
There is a spot on the thin strip of glass that sits next to the large scanner glass. Because you are moving the paper when using the feeder, a spot appears as a line. Shining a flashlight on the glass can help you locate it. You can scrape it off with a finger nail or clean it with a damp cloth.

Glass may have a small scratch or need cleaning. We have 6 of these and cleaning/buffing glass usually fixes it

With our printer, we found that it was because we were scanning documents that had white-out on them. If you use white-out before scanning, clean the glass thoroughly after.
