Hi, I'd like to know if there is a way you could trace the track record of someone who has been reading my emails. This person is a computer technician who borrowed my tower and took all my settings and was receiving my emails on to his computer. I need evidence he's been doing this in order to report it. Is there any way you could find evidence of that happening? Carlo

If you are trying to see who is accessing your email I would recommend you check with the host company for the email. They should have record of the IP Address that is accessing the email account. If they can not trace the IP for you aleast they can have the IP address that is not yours blocked from access.

Let me know if you have any more problems or questions

Depends who your email provider is i would contact them as they will be able to use access records to help you in tracing who it is and taking action to prevent it.
Mainly change your password for your email soon as to prevent him re-logging in and contacting email provide to trace the person accessing your email other than yourself.

If you notice changes to your account that you did not make or if you believe your Yahoo! account has been used by someone else without permission, please immediately change your password. Go to Yahoo! Account Info and click Change your password.
If you are not able to sign into your Yahoo! account, visit the Sign-in Problems page and choose My account may have been compromised. These pages ask for basic information, such as your birthday and the postal code you provided when you registered to verify that you are the true owner of the account. After verification, Yahoo! will reset your password.
Next, we ask that you report the possible fraud to Yahoo!. Contact Yahoo! Customer Care and supply as much detail as possible regarding the problem:

If you remember replying to an unsolicited email asking for your Yahoo! ID or password, please include as much information as possible regarding the email you received.

If you believe your password was collected from a website that was not Yahoo!, please include the full address of the webpage you saw collecting passwords.
IMPORTANT: If you supplied credit card or bank account numbers to an unverified website or in an email message, you should immediately report this to your financial institutions.
I encourage you to learn more about protecting your account and avoiding password scams.
Using an older version of Internet Explorer or Firefox subjects your PC to more vulnerabilities, viruses and spyware. To ensure you’re protected, we recommend downloading a Yahoo! optimized version of Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox today.

Hi Carlo,
There is no way as such to find out that since when he is reading your emails, because emails were made in this manner that they can be accessed from any where in this world.

There is one way to find out is to approach your internet service provider but even they will not let you know till the time you have complained it with the police, because this is something not that easy. If you approach the police they can find out with the help of cyber crime department.

But yes there is a way to stop him read your email is change your password and all the security questions to recover your password,
afterwards he will not be able to read your emails.

The only way that he may do that is if it has installed into your computer a key-logger software ..that transmits data about everything that you type into your computer..so that he has knowledge about what you ..type ..when and in what program ..so there he knows all the passwords and user id ..
There are many forms of this software and you will not be able to find it by name ..unless you know all programs and all theirs functions ..so ..even if you can not trace it ..my advice is to get the computer to another tech ..and reinstall the operation system ..and all software you use..and during that format the hard-disk ..
save all important data first ..one by one ..and put them back after installation ..
Beware that this kinda software do not has to be installed into C drive /program files..and can be installed in its own director and placed anywhere ..
This is the reason that I advice you to make time and select files you want to save one by one ...to be sure there are no strange folders among them ....
after that I advice you to change password in email ..also on bank account and any that you might been using since than for not having any surprises ..
By teh way ..if anyone knows your password and access your email there is no way to trace it ..cause it can be done from virtually anywhere ..and there is no way to find out ..the only thing like I explained ..you can remove the possibility of a fishing-spying activity ..and change the passwords..to be sure..

the only evidence that you might report is finding the software planted into your computer ..and for that you have to get to a professional cause this things are usually hidden ..If you find the software in the computer ..you can find in its settings the email towards the info are sent..

Change your email address and password first thing. Most email providers have an access log where they store the logins of the email accounts. Perhaps you can optain a copy of that and then at least you will have the guys IP providing he's not hiding behind a proxy server.

+639170000240, +639170000247, +639170000248 smart message centers, which areas in the Philippines

Hi!! I'm sorry, but locations cannot be traced using those numbers alone unless you have Phone tracker featured on your phone. Numbers starting 0917 means they are GLOBE handy phone carriers. If you know someone living in the Philippines, you might want to instruct them to buy Globe Sim card then go to Globe Prepaid- Specials-Tracker-Person Tracker- then enter those number listed above to track where in the Philippines these mobile Globe numbers are.
Hope this helps. Thank you for using Fixya! May you have a good day.

I never asked any question but got an email saying, A new solution has been posted for your Aspire 5500 5570-2609 Laptop Computer (AS55702609RTL) PC Notebook problem on FixYa.com.  Click here to read...

Hi Bobby,

I see a problem was posted using your account:
e02f388.jpg
Did you use a public space, such as an internet cafe or library, sometime in the past, when logged into Fixya?
It's possible that someone tried to post a problem, and the same computer let them log onto your account because the browser had remembered the email address/username and password, or was still 'Signed In'.
That person won't get his/her Solution I guess..

That's the only way it could happen, other than someone knowing you email and your fixya password, which isn't very likely.
So I wouldn't get too paranoid about it..

Hope this puts your mind at rest :)
