Question about Arris SURFboard SB5101U DOCSIS 2.0 Cable Modem - RoHS
light pattern you have described shows that the modem can not
establish a connection to your internet service provider (ISP). This is
typically do to a signal related issue. To trouble shoot the problem you
will need to connect the modem directly to the main cable line where it
first enters into the home. You will know when the modem establishes a
connection by the top 4 lights becoming solid green. If at any point all 4 top
green lights start to blink in sequence than you will need to contact
your internet service provider to "unwall the modem". Remember most
internet service providers require you to register new modems on there
network. So if you have not all ready completed that process you will
most likely not have access. If you can not get a connection from the main line than there is a issue with either the modem or the signal coming into the home and you will need to contact your internet service provider.
I hope that information above has helped is some way.
