Question about Caterpillar American Construction Equipment 1:87 Scale

Open Question

I have a cat gp25 forklift. Through the day it starts getting almost into the overheating red range on the temp gauge. Coolant level is fine and it was just serviced too days ago. Temp where we live is between 70-90 degrees f.

By cat I assume you realize this is a warning for an overheating catalytic converter not the engine, the Cat is locate in the exhaust system and can cause a fire.

could be the engine temp switch , have the OBD codes read this should tell you what ,if any where the fault is

I have a 2003 alero with the v-6 what happened was driving down the road the heater works fine. then all of a sudden it was blowing cold air and the temp gauge started climbing. it started blowing how air...


Sounds like the water pump is cavitating . Replace water pump. Check coolant level also. Open the bleeder valve usually located on thermostat housing to remove air from system. close valve when coolant is present while filling. close radiator cap and top off recovery bottle to correct level. These engines are prone to overheating, do not let temp gauge get in the red.

My 2003 yamaha yzf 600 seems to be overheating. I was riding the other day and fan was kicking on just before it got in the red on temp guage is this normal.

1. Low coolant level.
2. Restricted radiator air flow.
3. Faulty thermostat.
4. Coolant pump or fans inoperative.
5. Vent hose crimped.
6. Air in the coolant and needs bleeding.
7. Engine idling too long or bike moving too slow.

1998 subaru forester overheating heater blows cold air


Any chance of a head gasket leak? Is the coolant level still full? These were known for head gasket issues. Coolant is a closed system and level will not drop unless there is a leak. Make sure there is no air in the system. Replace the radiator cap to make sure that it is operating properly.

I have a 1994 325i conv. the temp gauge cycles between normal operating temp and overheating as i'm driving.a few minutes in each range.could it be the radiator.blocked passages? is this common to older...


my 528i does, or did the same thing. Overheating is bad for those aluminum cylinder heads. 1st, replace the coolant. Then check to see if the electric cooling fans work, or cycle on, they most certainly would have to cycle on when the temp gauge is in the red zone.
1st thing most people do is replace the thermostat. However, if the temp goes from overheating to not overheating in less than a minute, the thermostat is working. The key thing to look for is why did it get to the red zone in the first place.

97 saturn sl2 temp light flashing and low coolant light flashing what could be the problem ? coolant is full and the heat works.


If the temp gauge is reading normal, the lights are flashing, and the coolant level is full, the level sensor in the coolant bottle is the problem. I'm a service consultant for a Saturn dealer and I've run across this many times.

Overheating


Is the car actually overheating or are you just getting a red temp symbol on the dash? What does your temp gauge say? If it is indeed overheating and they did replace all the parts you say they did, they probably didn't bleed the cooling system properly. If any air is trapped in the system, it will cause a overheat condition. Take it back and tell them to bleed it right. Make sure they tightened up your radiator overflow/fill bottle cap as well...turn it until it "snaps". Now if the car is not physically overheating, and the temp gauge shows normal with the needle straight up (~190F), but you show a red temp symbol on the dash, your coolant level sensor in the overflow/fill bottle cap could be defective, the harness that plugs into it could be loose and/or your coolant level is too high. Lower the level until it is in the cross-hatch area printed on the bottle and reseat the connector. If it still has the red temp symbol, chances are very good the sensor in the bottle went bad. Mine went bad on my 04 Jetta 2.0 and I got a constant red symbol on the dash. Hope this helps you out.

Car overheating


You need to check the water pump and coolant level. If coolant level is low you might have the air pocket in system. Overheating of the car can cause the damadge of head gaskette and engine block itself.
