Sounds like the computer is not able to read/communicate to your hard drive. This it typically the fault of hard drive itself and not the notebook and it is a replaceable part. There are some utilities out there that may correct this issue. However if your laptop is still under warranty, i'd contact your sales rep / manufacturer. please make a note if you would like info on researching those utilities.
