Question about Husqvarna Designer I
The Designer 1 needs the design in an shv format in order to read it. The floppy disk for an older machine may be created using several different programs but the Husqvarna Viking module is known as Disk Manager. It is included with many of the HV software packages. With a newer USB Designer 1, the program is Disk Manager USB.

I am trying learn what the different files mean. SHV. for example. I have had my D1 machine for 5 year and only do embroidery on it. I used it the first year and am just now starting again. It has been on vacation for 4 years. Anyone willing to talk to me a little and answer some of my questions?

It depends on the exact model you have. I have the Designer I USB. It uses vp3 files, but you can seldom download vp3. If you have the 3D or 4D or 5D program for your computer, then you can download almost any file format and your program will convert it. But I prefer to download VIP or pes files. I have more conversion trouble with some of the other formats like art, and Hus gives me the most trouble converting the file into vp3 for my machine. Practice with file conversion by downloading a few freebies in different formats then converting them to see which works best for you, your machine, your program and your computer. Good luck. Hope this helps.
