WAtch the video I post here. In the middle of the laptop under the keyboard you will see the white ribbin connector that attaches to your touchpad. This will show you where it connects. Your friend simply forgot to reconnect it.

On my Compaq 6400, the scroll doesn't work, how can i fix it?

You have to download the touchpad drivers. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=ca&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=1847703&prodNameId=1847704&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-58276-1 these should be the ones. If they don't work let me know and give me the entire name on the white label on the back along with the serial number

My touch pad wont work

please try to un-install and re-install the driver for the touch-pad. if that doesn't work then you have a bad touch-pad and it needs to be replaced. or you can use a usb optical mouse instead. refer to local service tech for parts

Download worked, Windows7 say it is install and working, cursor does not move

Hello and welcome to FixYa,

This could be one of so many issues.

You could have your touch pad lock on and not realize it;

Did you restart the computer after your download was complete? If this doesn't work;

You could try to re-download your touch pad drivers,

then restart the computer again after installation is

complete.

If you have any more information that could help, let me know and i will find other solutions for you to try.

Let me know how this worked out for you. If my solution helped you, please rate this solution!
It doesn't cost anything and only takes a second, but it is greatly appreciated.

Touch pad does not operate. have uninstalled and reinstalled correct driver and PC device manager says device is working properly with no conflicting programs. generally, the pad did not really operate...

Hello,

it is possible that the touch pad is disabled. Check control panel to actually confirm.

Since your touch pad is not operating, you will need an external mouse to perform this task.

Here is what you have to do to check if the touch pad is disabled.

Turn on your laptop, wait till it boots completely.

Click start,

Scroll to Control Panel select Control Panel.

Under control panel, (you will find a Mouse icon), click Mouse and a dialogue box will pop out.

On the dialogue box, click "Device settings".

Under device settings, you will find "Synaptics Touchpad..."

Highlight the "Synaptics Touchpad..." by clicking on it once, then click enable.

By now the mouse pad should be enabled. Apply the changes for it to take affect.

If the above doesn't solve the problem, try performing system. System restore can help to back date your computer to the time when the touch pad was working....

Go to Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > System restore. Read and follow instructions.....

If the two solutions does not work, please let me so that I can further help you.

Yours sincerely.

My up and down scroll is not working again...please whats the cause....

If your computer recently updated the touch pad software threw the hp interface go into control panel click on the touch pad software and right click properties and remove driver or roll back to earlier version of driver. If this does not help go to www.hp.com Go to the drivers and downloads section pick your computer and have it update your software, if it still does not work there is a auto problem detection you can use to trouble shoot the issue, you will have to choose the issue you are having. Since you did not give complete information on the problem this is the best help I can give you at this time. If you still have a problem please let me know and will try to help you some more. Hope this helps and thanks for using fix-ya.com

My aspire 5310 mouse pad is not working

either your mouse pad is broken or someone or some program has shut off the driver for your touch pad. I would reinstall the drivers and reboot. if that doesnt fix the issue, I would then look into replacing the pad.

F1 Error on Maytag Electric Oven

Found something on the net that said it may be a heat sensor so I returned my new touch pad ($220) and put in my old one that was giving me the F1error. I bought a heat sensor ($55) and crossed my fingers. It WORKED! F1 was no longer flashing and the oven's back up and running.. so much for the error codes.. F1 = touch pad and F4 was supposed to be the sensor..

If you're fixing it yourself and think it may be the touch pad, I recommend going through SEARS. Even though the touch pad was an electrical part they still allowed me to return it hassle free and most companies wont accept returns if it wasn't installed by one of their service professionals. So I was more than happy to get the $220 back when it turned out to be the heat sensor. Only downfall is that I had to wait 2 weeks to get the part. Hope this helps anyone with the same error.
