Question about Motorola Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a DCT 6416 III Motorola PVR that has been working perfectly. Turning it on today, I got the following message on all channels: "One moment please - This channel should be available shortly." The on-line TV Guide still works, but none of the channels work. I know it's not the cable provider's fault, since the TV and PVR we have in another room are working fine.

This happens because the receiver is no longer capable of detecting the presence of the channel and this is caused by the failure of the tuner. This is a hardware fault , the entire PVR must be sent to be repaired - the tuner will have to be replaced.
But i must say that this is the eight question related to a failed tuner that i got this evening in less than 2 hours. Has been a big storm or a big power outage) around you lately?

New remote control, need to program in a DVR code for a Motorola dct 6416 III. No such model in the instructions that came with the new remote

Hello ndeno44,

if the manual does not show that model tv, then remote will not work for that particular tv. Unfortunately NOT all universal remote will work on all tv's. But the best ones I have found is logitech remotes. Whether it is the $500 remote or if it is a $30 remote. They seem to work quite good and they have excellent reviews. Look into it. Good luck.

Motorola Dual Tuner PVR - DCT 6412-III --- HELP

I was just reading another blog on this problem and it seems you must clear any recording setup you have for the program the go to the settings and in the history file delete all listings of it. This can take a while as you must delete them one at a time. Then you can reset the series or single recordings. Seems to work for some people. I am having the same problem and programs are disapearing one at a time. Good Luck

Motorola Dual Tuner PVR 6412-III ( HD )

If you cannot get it repaired, note that it has a 120GB disk-drive -- very small when compared to the latest model (500GB), and note that the disk-drive probably is approaching 10 years old -- doomed to "fail" soon. Replace it, and add an external-SATA "Expander" to add another 1000GB of storage of recordings.
