Picture is perfect for about 5 seconds then just goes out. No clicking or other noise. Fans run for first 5 seconds and go out when tv goes out. It doesn't make the normal "click" sound when it goes off. If you try it again it will do the same thing.

  • jnewman577 Aug 31, 2010

No clicking noises. Just shuts off with normal relay shut off sound and fans turn off.

    Thanks,
    jeff

This uses a 24 bit RGB driver and it is quite possible that it would be heating up and cutting off. You will need to remove off the back panel and see if this critical IC is getting warm, use a freeze it spray on it and watch if the set works on.
Now disconnect all sources the TV and test, watch for fault to come in or with a longer delay. Now try with DVD input to check. If the IC can be soldered try and attempt to do carefully and also the associated circuits if you noitice that it is cutting up on warming.
If this driver is a suspect it will be better to seek help.
If in warrranty DO NOT ATTEMPT to touch the circuits but claim for your priviledged free service.

Yeah that was the clicking noise I have asked for. It is confirmed that its a problem with the power supply circuit. How good are your electronics/soldering skills?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Sidebar" will make surf easy.

BLINKING GREEN LIGHT AND WILL NOT POWER UP

You can check the Error code by doing the following.

On the Front panel hold down the Device and Menu Button for 5 seconds. The LED light will then start flashing the first set of flashing lights is for the "1"5 part of the code it will then pause for about a half second and start the ones place 1"5". The code will repeat 5 times before going off.

The Error Codes: 12 - Normal Operation; 21 - X-Ray Protect; 22 - Short Protect; 23 - Loss of Horizontal Deflection; 24 - Loss of Vertical Deflection.

The problem may also be in the power supply when you first plug the device in check how many times the Led blinks if it blinks for just over a minute the power supply is working fine. If the Led blinks repeatedly and does not stop the DM is not running.

Hi i have a JVC GD-V4210 PCE it has power but it has no picture or the fans has no power the led goes green when turned on then goes flashing red please could someone help

Your TV power supply board is damage and will soon cause your TV to not power on. Yes, cleaning the fan will only temporary fix the situation but eventually you will need to fix the power supply board. You can order one on ebay or amazon but make sure to have the correct serial/model number on the back of the TV before ordering and fixing it yourself. However, if you are not sure then have a certified tech to come see it.
