How do i connect to the internet using my network

In order for you to have internet access please note of the following:
1. You have Internet service provider
2. Have the modem box provided by your ISP plugged in to the wall jack with the telephone cord came with the box.
3. Connect your modem to your computer with the yellow cord came with the box.
4. Make sure to have your username and password given to you by your ISP in order for you to configure your modem.
5. Check the light status of the box make sure that dsl light is steady green, lan light steady green, internet light might be in steady red or off since its not uet configured.
6. Access configuration of your modem from you computer using the IP address. You can find the IP address at the bottom part of the modem. If you cant locate Ip Address perform this: from your computer go to start menu then go to run then type CMD and press enter. A black window will come up and from that window type in ipconfig then press enter. It will provide you the IP address that looks like this 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.0. Get that IP address and type in to the Inrnet explorer address bar and hit enter.
7. It will ask you to login from there type in the username and password normally the default config of the modem is the credential like username is admin and the password is either admin also.
8. From the modem config page run through the steps and that's it... if you have questions or concern please send me message for me to assist you further.

My D-link dir-600 router connects to the network wirlessly and then gives no internet access...

->Check the ADSL or cable modem status light. If it is solid green, it indicates that your ADSL/cable modem has a good connection.

->Verify that the Internet light on your wireless router is solid or blinking green.
->Open web browser and enter the IP address and enter the login details on the login screen and proceed.Click Router Status under Maintenance and check if you see your IP address.

->If you see 0.0.0.0, the router is not obtaining the IP address. It can happen due to various reasons. Contact your ISP and ask for the details including username, password for PPPoE etc. and try to connect to the Internet again afterwards.

->After configure you router ,open Command Prompt, type 'ipconfig/all' and hit Enter. Check Default Gateway

->If you are still unable to browse the Internet, ping your router's connection to the PC. Open Command Prompt, type 'ping IPaddress(ex:192.168.1.0)', hit Enter.

->If you get the Request timed out message then check your router connection again and correct the Ethernet connection between your PC and the router.

Westwall modem Internet is solid red light

If the internet light is red, it means that the modem cannot get an ip connection from the ISP.

If your ISP has a PPPOE connection, most likely, the PPPOE password is not correct.

To ensure your settings, access the modem through a web browser. In the address bar, type 192.168.1.1.

Default Username: admin
Default Password: password

If this doesn't work, try admin for the username and password. If still doesn't work, you will need to reset the modem. Just hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Then turn it off for 1 minute.

Try again to access the modem, under Configuration, click Edit beside My Connection. Type your ISP username and password then Save.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

If your router is connected to your computer via ethernet cable you will be able to get the configuration page of the router.

Windows XP
1. Click start
2. Click run
3. Type cmd in the box and press enter
4. On the black screen type ipconfig and press enter
5. Look for the default gateway
6. Copy that and use that to access the configuration page using the internet explorer
7. Open internet explorer, type http://the default gateway you copied in the address bar of the internet explorer
ex: http://192.168.1.0

Windows Vista
1. Click pearl button (start in xp)
2. Click on start search box (run in xp)
3. Type cmd in the box
4. Right click the black icon up at the top
5. Click on run as administrator
6. Click on continue
7. On the black screen type ipconfig and press enter
8. Look for the default gateway
9. Copy that and use that to access the configuration page using the internet explorer
10. Open internet explorer, type http://the default gateway you copied in the address bar of the internet explorer
ex: http://192.168.1.0

Trying to set up D-link WBR-1310 with hughes net? internet works bypassing router, but will not work going through roughter.

The router will work properly with your internet connection if you have the right configuration. There is a configuration for cable internet connection and broadband internet connection. If you are using a broadband internet connection some of the ISP are providing a username and password before you can access the internet connection, so in your router, you will have to use the PPPoE username/password type of configuration. If you have cable internet connection, choose Dynamic IP DHCP and clone the mac address of your NIC by clicking the Clone Mac address.

Just in case if you don't know how to access the configuration page of your router follow the steps
1. plug your router to your computer via ethernet cable
2. If you are using windows XP
- click start
- click run
- type cmd
- press ok
- type ipconfig on the black screen
- look for the default gateway (this is the ip of your router)
- open internet explorer
- type http://the default gateway that you found
- press enter
- under internet, choose manual configuration
- save all settings after providing the correct configuration.

3. If you are using windows vista/7
- click pearl button
- click start search
- type cmd
- right click the black icon up at the top
- left click run as administrator
- click continue
- on the black screen type ipconfig
- check the default gateway
- open up internet explorer
- type http://the default gateway that you found

let me know if this helped you we'll see what else we can do

Cannot detect network connection

Hi,

Instead of running the CD, try to configure the router manually. First, make sure that you have verified internet connectivity between your PC and your modem. Once verified, connect your modem to the internet port of your router and then your PC to any of the ports (1, 2, 3, or 4) at the back of your router. Turn ON your modem, router and PC.

On your PC go to Start>Run> then type "cmd" and hit the Enter key.
On the black screen type ipconfig/all and hit the Enter key.
Check the IP address of your Local Area Connection.
If it is 192.168.1.xxx, then you are good to go.
Check the connectivity between your PC and the router. On the black screen type ping 192.168.1.1 and hit the Enter key.
If you're getting replies, minimize the window and open a browser.
Type http://192.168.1.1 and hit the Enter key.
Once prompted with a username and password type admin (admin is the default password).
Once you're on the Web interface of the router, enter your internet connection type and then save the settings.
Once done, click on the Status tab and then check the internet IP address.
If there's an internet IP address, try to open a new window and see if you can access the internet.

All lights on router were on and i took ethernet cable from modem and plugged directly into computer and internet came on i tried unplugging the router but still could not get internet do i need to push...

Hi,

When you say all lights on the router are ON, does this mean that even there is no ethernet cable connected to the router the lights are still ON? Yes, may still want to revieve it by pushing the reset (use a pen or paper clip) buttton for 30 seconds and then unplug the power and then plug it back in. See if the lights are stable, then try to test the connectivity between the computer and the router. Connect your PC to your router and then go to Start>Run> and then type cmd and hit Enter.

Once you're on the black screen, type ipconfig/all and hit Enter.

See if you're getting an IP address from the router. By default it will assign 192.168.1.100 to your PC.
If you are getting 192.168.1.xxx, see if you can ping the router. Just type on the black screen, ping 192.168.1.1 and then hit Enter again.

If you get replies then there's a chance to make it working. Just access the Web UI, open a browser and type 192.168.1.1 and hit Enter.

Once you're on the Setup page of the router, double check your Internet Connection Type and make sure you have the correct settings. Connect your Modem to the Internet port of the router and then go to the status page of the router and see if your getting an Internet or WAN IP address. If yes, then try to surf the internet.

I suggest the you also upgrade your router with the lates firmware version available on the Linksys Web site.

I can not get my Belkin F5D7230-4 router to work

Hi! My name is Steve Medley and I saw your request for Live Chat fly by twice before I could even begin to read the entire post.
The default IP address was incorrect -missing a digit, should be entered in the RUN field, and be in this format http://xxx.xxx.xx.x
Command Prompt in Vista should be started with right clicking and "Run as administrator" as elevation will be required.
