Question about Jenn-Air JCD2389G Side by Side Refrigerator

1 Answer

The refrigerator is not defrosting properly, and water is pooling under the fridge daily. In fact, water congregates in the bottom of the freezer side. What doesn't escape to below the fridge, freezes inside, making a large block of ice.

Whirlpool refrigerator is leaking water

If the water is pooling around the bottom of the fridge I would pull the fridge out and pull the panel of the back of the fridge and check to make sure the black plastic drain pan is in place and the white or clear plastic hose coming from the bottom of the fridge is aimed at the drain pan, if they are not then that would be why you have water pooling up under the fridge. Generally the Walter gos into the drain pan after defrost and the heat from the discharge lie of the compresser evaporates the water and it should never overflow. Hope this helps

There was standing water in the bottom of my Roper refrigerator under the crisper drawers. The drain pan under the fridge was dry. I cleaned up the water and vaccumed under the bottom of the fridge. ...

Hello,

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps

Fridge and freezer are working just fine. But, I keep getting pools of water inside my fridge. These pools stay to the back of the fridge on all levels and they sometimes turn to ice. I notice ice layer...

Your defrost drain is most likely blocked with ice or sludge. Now when your refrigerator goes into defrost it pours into base of freezer or just anywhere it can to pool up. Why is water is pooling at bottom of the fridge

WATER LEAKING FROM REFRIGERATOR OR INSIDE THE FREEZER OR FRESH FOOD SECTION
You have a blockage in your condensate defrost line or the pipe that fill the tray below the refrigerator is missing the condensate collector pan that uses the heat from the fan to evaporate the condensate back into the air inside your home.

Flooding when freezer defrosts

Make sure the refrigerator is level and the drain tube is not clogged. This is the most common cause of water pooling.

There is water dripping filling up the bottom under the salad container. The model is a LRTN22311TT.

Remove contents of fridge and check the drain line running down the top back of the back of fridge and follow to lower section of fridge (usually a back ledge or under the crisper sections) and locate a small round drain hole. Also, check to see that the drain collector (funnel looking thing at top back of fridge section) is located under the freezer defrost drain opening, to allow water to flow through the fridge into the drain pan under the fridge.

If something has obstructed the drain funnel, path, tube, or lower drain hole, remove the blockage to allow water to drain into underneath of fridge into drain pan for proper evaporation of water produced from the usual daily defrost cycle of fridge/freezer.

If that is not the problem, it could be that you have a leaking water supply line for your ice maker and you'll need to see if the freezer is allowing excessive water to flow out of the ice maker into the fridge section.

Another simple check/solution is that the fridge is not properly leveled, meaning that the front of the fridge should be slightly higher than the rear to allow for proper drainage and self closing of the front doors. This will help keep the water flowing in the built in channels and drains.

A perfectly level fridge isn't the right way to install most moveable refridgerators, while built in fridges (Sub Zero, etc.) are designed for plumb and level installations for proper functioning and use.
