Question about LG 42PX5D 42 in. Plasma HDTV
I have a 42 inch LG SD Plasma TV, basically picture went from crystal clear to fuzzy and now dark. I can still see outlines and shapes but thats it. Even the LG Menuis basically dark as well. Wondering if its a fused or if the TV is just knackered. Its about 5 years old.
This could be the main drive board failed, or the plasma display backplane has a defect. These types of repairs are generaly fairly expensive.
I would be considering to get an estimate just in case it is simple fault. But, if the repair will cost more than a few hundred dollars, I would strongly suggest a new set. Also, servicing an older set is a gamble in case something else will soon fail.
