I unplugged the unit and went on vacation. I just came back and turned all my stereo/TV components back on, but the JVC DR-MX1S just flashes "Loading" - and has for the past five hours! Unplugging and plugging it back in does not work. In the past there were never any problems when I came back from extended time away and turned on the power. How can I bypass the "loading" message so I can turn on the machine? I don't care about the clock, etc., as I only use it for playback - but right now the "loading" message prevents operation. Thanks

I have the JVC DR-MX1S vcr/dvd combo with hard drive; I have had it since 2005 and I absolutely love it. However, this past weekend I was watching a store bought dvd (with no problem) and since then the player has not recognized ANY dvd I put into it. I have put in another store bought dvd, nothing; one I've finalized, nothing; one that I'm currently putting shows on but haven't finalized yet, nothing. I even bought a dvd cleaner and it doesn't even recognize that dvd.

The device won't eject the VHS cassette tape and constantly gives the information on the LED display that the tape is 'loading'. All the other buttons and functions are frozen.
