The first light from the right is the power light

The saturn looking icon is the internet light, it will lit up if you have something connected to the internet port of the router.

The curving lines is for the wireless broadcast, it will not lit up if the SSiD broadcast is disabled.

The button in the middle is for WPS ( Wi-fi Protected Setup )

and you've got the wired ethernet ports.

I have a problem in my facebook chat box..below my chat box there is a symbol of exclamatory inside the triangle...im online in chat..what does this symbol means?

Your internet connection is not stable that is why your chat box is intermittent. Try turn OFF your modem and router simultaneously. After 30 seconds turn ON your modem first and wait for the dsl light become stable then turn your router ON. wait for all lights on your router become stable then try logging in to facebook. If you are on wireless make sure it is connected before logging in to facebook.

Hi. I have Dell latitude d610. What does the symbol A inside a lock mean? It's under wifi symbol on front panel. My computer turns on for 3-5 seconds & goes off. thanks

That symbol stands for CAPSLOCK and lets you know if it is on or off. when the light is on means capslock is on. when off capslock is off

There is an orange light on the front of the router. What does it mean when this light is on all the time? It wasn't on before. It doesn't seem to interfere with anything, but it bothers me since I don't...

There should be two lights on the front of the router. The top one is your router status light... If this light is blinking orange, then your router cannot detect your modem. The other one is the WPS (Wifi Protected Setup) button light. If this light is solid orange, then that means the button was pushed, but no connetion was created. Either way, there is no indication of an intuder on your network. So, as long as you have setup your wireless security and encryption, you can rest easy.

How do we turn on the wireless connection and what do all 7 lights and symbols mean on the front of the..we have no owners manual laptop

Log into the router by accessing it via the IP address usually located on the sticker on the bottom of the router.

And if you don't post up the model number/make.. for all we know its the 7 lights on the front of the space shuttle.

The power wont come on anymore

There is a Reset button on the back of the router on the right side of the back. If you press and release it the router will reset itself but should still remember the settings that you have programmed into it. If that doesn't fix the issue then press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds then let it go this will take the router back to the factory default settings. This would mean that you have to setup your network from scratch. If neither of the resets fix the issue then you may have to get the router serviced.

I lost my manual and I'm just trying to find out what the symbols on the front panel mean. I'm particularly interested in knowing what is the difference between the sun and half-sun

The full sun symbol means full heat drying,, and the half sun symbol means half heat drying.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

MacBook not connecting to DIR-655 Router

My solution was that I changed the wireless mode from "B,G and N" to just "B and G," and then it worked fine.

Flashing Orange Light

Usually it means the connection is dropping. Contact your ISP and have them run a test on your line. In addition (and they'll ask you to do this anyway), replace the microfilter and the cable that goes from your router to the microfilter, to help rule out faulty hardware.
