Upon powering on the system won't go past the boot

> problem with barebone system
> asks for a password in the Setup

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Look on the motherboard for three pins in a row, with a jumper between #1 and #2.
Move that jumper to connect #2 and #3. Count to ten.
Move that jumper back to #1 and #2.
The motherboard has been reset to its "factory" settings, i.e., NO password.
Connect the AC power.
Turn the computer on.
Press <DEL> to enter Setup.
It should NOT ask for a password.

TE2100 ASKING ME PASSWORD AT POWER ON

If your notebook asking you a password while you turn it on, probably someone is set your basic input output system(bios) configured to prompt for a password. There are two ways to clear your systems password 1. is you have to guess for the password 2. you have to clear the cmos or bios settings by removing your cmos battery from your motherboard for about 10 seconds. Then put it back again then on your computer. That's all have a nice day!

My computer used to when turned off or rebooted would go into the password window, now it does not yet the settings for the password are there. What can I do to get it back I have done a system...but did...

Hello,

when the machine is booted then please right click on my computer and go in manage option and it will open computer management.

Please right click on your user name and click reset password and assign a password.
Before logging in now your system will be asking the password.

If you are talking about the password immediately after turning on the machine then you will have to reset the password in bios under security.
You will need administrator rights for resetting windows password.

Thanks

Blank screen on desktop (dell inspiron 530s); requesting a password.

Someone has turned on the BIOS password on you and therefore the PC will not let you boot up unless you enter the correct password. The problem is you cannot turn off the password option unless you know the password. I would start by asking other people who had access to you computer what they set the password to. If nobody comes clean, then you will have to call Dell Tech Support to get them to reset the password for you. They will give you a master BIOS password to override the one set and turn off the option.

Asus computer password reset.

To unlock a forgotten Windows password on Asus, there are several free methods:
1. With another admin account.
2. With Windows password reset disk.
3. From Safe Mode.
4. With CMD.
5. Using "lusrmgr.msc"
More details you can found on other sites, it is easy to find.

Another tip: Unlock forgotten Windows password with Windows Password Recovery Tool.
1. Install this program on another computer and create a password recovery disk with USB
2. Insert the disk to your laptop and set your laptop to boot from it.
3. All user accounts will be loaded, then you can reset any user password.

Can' get back on computer

Hi. Is it the bios password or Windows password? If it's the bios jumper 1 on the mother board is the bios reset. Just reset the jumper and all shoul be good. If its windows it may be an administrator password you had when you set up your pc that being the case, depending on how you setup windows you may be able to press ctrl, alt, delete to get to user menu and press enter, alternativly clear the box and press enter.

Resetting the password

There are two places when you may be asked for a password - can you please clarify which one it is.
  1. The BIOS password which will ask you for a password BEFORE you see the Windows loading screen
  2. The Windows password, which will ask you for the password after the computer has started, but before you can see your desktop.
There is a reasonably easy solution for both of these.
