Want to erase my Dell latitude E6400, windows 7 professional laptop. If successful, can I put a Windows 10 program disk n jus change it all together????

Yes, as long as your Windows 7 key is still present and legible, it can be used to activate Windows 10. The free upgrade program *officially* ended a while back, but still works fine, I use it on clean Windows 10 installs 3-5 times a week. Just make sure you install the Windows 10 version that matches your Windows 7 key (in this case Professional).

How to Reset Password on Latitude?

We have usually had no idea on problems, such as: help reset password on Dell Latitude laptop , Dell Latitude admin password hack, bios password reset Dell Latitude, how do I reset my dell Latitude notebook back to the factory, etc. Once problem comes with password, we will hopefully get easy and quickly solutions supported for us! Now, we collect some ways to reset Dell Latitude password if forgot password again.

1. With created Dell Latitude password reset disk to recover lost Windows XP, 7, etc. password.
Though it maybe the most efficient way to help us in case we meet such password problem, most of us may not make sense of the importance of the disk for us PC users. The disk needs to be created before we forgot Dell Latitude password or once we set the account. If you did not have one, now look for Dell Password Reset Disk.

2. Unlock Dell Latitude password in Safe Mode (in XP)
Step 1. Press F8 when Latitude laptop starts. Select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and Enter.
Step 2. At the login screen with computer user accounts, choose an available account to login. Please note that the Administrator account (default/built-in) password is blank if never set password for it before.
Step 3. In Safe Mode, Dos command displays. Input "net user" and press Enter to list all the user names in Windows XP computer. Then input "net user Linda 123456" (Linda is the locked account name and 123456 is the new password set on this account) and press Enter. Then we will see "The command completed successfully."
Step 4. Input "shutdown -r" and press Enter to restart the system, then we can access "Linda" account in normal logon mode.

3. Easy to recover lost Dell Latitude Windows password by DIY a password reset disk.
DIY password reset disk is just to say, burn an .iso image file into a bootable CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive for the lost account after forgotten Windows password. The .iso file can be mainly got from professional password recovery software. Take one of the most popular software - Windows Password Recovery Corporation as example:
Step 1. Download Windows Password Recovery Corporation and burn .iso file to a bootable CD/DVD/USB via an accessible PC.
Step 2. Boot the target computer from CD/DVD/USB.
Step 3. Retrieve lost Dell Latitude password with the burned CD/DVD/USB.

In case we forget our Dell Latitude password or need to remove or break password on Dell Latitude, the above three methods may make sure that we get out of Latitude password reset problem easily and quickly!

I do not have the username and password for my new Dell latitude 2120

There are 3 ways for you to reset Dell Latitude password. Let's specify them in 3 parts.

Part 1: Using a Password Reset Disk

When you create Windows user accounts for your Dell Latitude, you can also create a password reset disk at the same time with a USB flash drive or a floppy disk to reset forgotten password afterwards, which means you have to make this tool before you forgot Dell Latitude password. Meanwhile, this password reset disk can reset only local user account password. If you want to unlock dell latitude without password or disk, or your Dell Latitude is on a domain, please refer to Part 3.

Part 2: Reinstalling Windows System

If you have no password reset disk, Dell Latitude will suggest you to reinstall Windows system when you forgot password. However, the cost of reinstallation is huge because all your settings and data in C drive will be lost. If you don't want to lose resources on your Dell Latitude laptop, try the following method.

Part 3: Using Dell Latitude Password Reset (Reset Password without Disk)

If you want to unlock Dell Latitude (d620) without password or disk, Windows Password Recovery (Windows Password Recovery Tool) will be your best choice to access Windows 8.1/8/7/Vista/XP adminitrator in dell . It is specially designed to reset any local or domain account password without system reinstallation when you forgot password and can't log into Windows OS on Dell Latitude laptop. Here is the example of Dell Latitude admin (administrator) password reset. What you need is just a USB flash drive or a blank CD/DVD and an available computer.
Note: The steps to reset other user account password (no matter whether it is a local or a domain one) are the same.
  • Step 1: Download and install Dell Latitude Password Reset on the available computer.
  • Step 2: Insert a USB flash drive or a blank CD/DVD on the computer, specify the burning device, and click "Burn".
  • Step 3: Click "Yes" and "OK" button in the pop-up windows.
  • Step 4: Insert the newly created USB flash drive or CD/DVD on your Dell Latitude and reboot it. Select the Windows installation you want to reset the password, choose "Reset your password" and click "Next".
  • Step 5: Select the administrator account, choose "Remove the password" and click "Next". In the pop-up window, click "Reboot".

How can i reset password from my laptop E6510

Hi Suamy,
How do you factory restore a dell latitude e6510 without the OS disk or password? Here is the steps, hope it helps:

just erase the password so it will be faster. Ophcrack is used to sniff the password, not clear/erase it, and depending on the strength of the password, it might take a long time. Use the Offline NT/2000/XP/Vista/7 Password Editor that's in this bootable CD:http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

Here's the direct link to the file:http://www.hirensbootcd.org/files/Hirens...

It's a compressed file. Mac OS X shouldn't have a problem extracting the contents of a zipped file. Inside it is a file called Hiren's.BootCD.15.1.iso which you have to burn to a CD using any ISO burner that's available for Mac. And as mentioned by Chris G in your other question, it will burn on a disc regardless of what OS you use as it's an image of a disc. It might not boot on a Mac but certainly it will on a Windows PC.

Boot your locked Windows 7 computer using that disc and run the program I mentioned above to erase the Windows 7 passwords. Based on my last use of that program, it takes about 5 presses of the Enter key to finally get to the main menu. It should be easy to follow.

If you want to know more about the program read this:http://www.hirensbootcd.org/resetting-wi...

By the way, the bootable CD also has KonBoot which bypasses the Windows log in password but it's still not guaranteed to work on Windows 7. It works on XP.

Forgot system password

Hi,

If you have a Windows password reset disk, you can easily reset your Windows password with it. If not, you can follow the steps to create one. You just need an available computer linked to the Internet.

Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Breaker with the available computer.

Step 2: Run the program and burn a Windows password reset disk. It could be burned onto a CD/DVD.

Step 3: Turn to your locked computer, insert the newly created CD/DVD to your drive. Reboot the Computer and reset the Windows password.

It is easy and safe to use.

Please let me know whether you can able to done it or not.

I need to reset my dell d630 password

Is it the Windows password? For that you need to use a program called System Commander which you can find on the Ultimate Boot CD.

http://www.ubcd4win.com/

Download and burn this to a CD to boot the laptop from. The utilities on it will help you reset the password.

Best of all, it's a free program!

Good Luck!

FORGOT MY PASSWORD?

There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the
most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to
reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

If it is the Windows password you are talking about try this:

You have to reset or crack the password with a socalled Live CD.. A kind of system/program running from a cd outside Windows..

Youcan try and download this, burn it to a cd and leave the cd in thecomputer and restart (You can use the program ImgBurn to burn it as aimage):
http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/download.php?type=livecd

When you have downloaded it:
1. Load ImgBurn.
2. Switch to 'Write' mode.
3. Insert Disc in Burner.
4. Select Image to burn.
5. Click 'Write' button.
6. Restart computer with cd in it..
