Question about Olympus FE-110 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Lens is not closing

I am not a good writter in English. But basically my camera drop from a short distance (less than 50cm) and the lens gets stuck. When you power on the camera, the lens display and try to close right after touching the turn on button. It is not a battery problem. Can you help me to fix it? If you push the on button several times, eventually the camera will stay on, takes pictures, video, etc.

Thanks!

The lens is stuck out..how do i get it to close? thx

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to this can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some things that you can do that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try.

If the lens is noticeably bent, then you may want to try Step 7. Good luck.

Dropped camera now lens wont close. It says lens

Hi,
Remove the batteries and insert new batteries . Sometimes this may work but in your case the lens is stuck inside, or it will have been damaged . Nothing can be done other than taking to service center to get it repaired .

Hope this helps .

I have a Nikon D40, which I recently dropped. :( Camera seemed okay, but then I noticed later that the 18-55 lens was being less than cooperative. It now is stuck on 55 adn will not zoom out. It still...

It sound like the lens zoom has broken.
If other lens is ok and this lens still focuses automatically the conection is working.

Sorry to bring the bad news but it may cost less to get a new lens than to get it fixed.

Someone else might have an idea how to fix the zoom, good luck.

Lens stuck. Wont extent all the way out of yhe case.

got dropped? ..basically this camera is dust now.... to fix barrel you can attempt to wedge pry or reshape ...but if dropped and tweaked lens barrel it is worth less than cost of repair...
if it is power issue only...try to reset ..go to cameras website to see if a resettign process is listed ..new firmware etc.. and hope that does it for you

Lens stuck open after dropping.

Sounds like your lens is out of alignment. Added to that something w/ the screen is affected by the lens. Safest way is to have a technician check it out. A short cut I take is to look at the lens carefully and see if there is something loose or how mis-aligned is the lens. Sometimes a slight nudge will get it working properly. But whether it starts to work or not, the lens is already misaligned and you may still have a problem taking clear pictures. So even with my short cut, I'd still suggest you bring it in for repairs. It's really not a good idea to do short cuts unless you have a budget problem. Take care of your camera and keep the strap around your neck at all times so you don't drop it again.

Lens Stuck

Same problem guys!!! LENS HAD GOT STUCK - ABOUT ONE THIRD OUT after a knock. After lots of playing, and tapping and batteries in and out tried the whole twisting and pulling thing whilst turning off and on.

After a few minutes it came free and whole lens popped out. I then had to twist the outer part of the lens to straighten that up and allow it to fully retract. Works a treat now!

PS Tried the Sony online chat support - useless!!!!
