Question about Washing Machines
The F24 fault code indicates that during the water heating step of the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor value is out of range (-5 degrees C to 103 degrees C). This can be caused by a defective NTC temperature sensor, a wiring failure or a failed control board. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair this type of failure. If you have the technical ability to safely access internal washer parts and want to repair this failure yourself, you will need to unplug the washer and access the NTC temperature sensor (part 24 in the link below).click the link.
This component can be accessed by pulling off the bottom front service panel. Screws at the very bottom of the service panel attach it to the washer cabinet. Remove the screws and pull the panel out and down to remove it from the washer. Remove the wires from the NTC temperature sensor and measure the resistance across the leads of the component using a volt/ohm meter. At room temperature, you should read around 11K ohms (11,000 ohms). If the reading is way off, then the thermistor will need to be replaced. If the reading is normal, then you may have a wiring problem or a failed control board. You can purchase parts for your washer at www.searspartsdirect.com
