Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue can be due to many reasons: probably the bearing is out or the motor itself has gone bad and/or the impeller is bad. To check what is causing this issue you’ll have to take it apart and then check start with checking the edges of the impeller, if these edges are broken then it’ll cause a loud sound. If this is fine then check the bearings as they might have failed causing this issue, also check the fan as that might be loose. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Loud noises often come from the power nozzle section of an Electrolux (now Aerus) due to small heavy items being picked up and not making it up the hose. A loose or broken belt will result in loud thumping and burning rubber smell.
Unless someone dropped something down the bag well when there was no bag, or a bag broken, there should be nothing in the main machine that would cause a loud thumping. Fans are metal, attached directly to the motor, and only in situations in first sentence of this paragraph will anything get into the fan and chip or break the "blades".
This is a pretty recent, still on the market vacuum, and may very well still be under warranty. It has a 10 year warranty on the canister components, including motor and fan assembly, against defects in manufacture and workmanship. The accessories, including the power nozzle, have a 5 year warranty on them. See owner's manual for more information about the warranty.

If the belts are good and not slipping, the noise could be a bearing issue.

Lux legacy canister vacuum - the top light on the canister went on. No power to the bottom of the roller. What does that light mean. Looks like a plug

The "plug" light simply tells you the machine is plugged in and receiving power.
I'm not sure what you mean by "no power to the bottom of the roller". If the power nozzle motor isn't working, make sure nothing is wrapped around the brush, remove if there is, and press the reset switch.
If the power nozzle motor is running, but the brush isn't turning, then the belt must have broken, and needs to be replaced.
Considering your machine may still be under warranty, I suggest taking it to a local Aerus dealer and having it replaced.

Vacuum cleaner Lux model motor fails to start

This vacuum has a 10 year warranty on the motor, and 5 years on everything else. Look in the yellow pages under vacuums, for the AERUS dealer, that is the new name for the traditional Electrolux company.....

Lux legacy

Actually the problem is inside of the canister itself. You need to change a part called the control valve. Occaisonally when fine particles get inside of the valve it damages the inside of the valve, sending a false reading to the main motor, causing it to shut off. This is a relatively quick and easy repair and should be recieved on a same day basis.

Loud noise

When the motor bearings start to go bad, they will make a loud noise. Some motors if a piece broke off of the fan, then it also will make a loud noise. You may have to replace the motor.
