You need the FTBM22.4 belt and can find it here: (see your model number) $9.95 + $5.99 shipping US

To change the belt you remove the rubber from turn table and then using the finger holes press on the center post while lifting the turn table off.

Speed seems to be slowing down every so often but then it will resume speed

Chances are you need to replace the drive belt.
These are easily available online (try Ebay or Amazon) just search by make and model number.
To access the belt you will normally need to turn the turntable upside down and unscrew the base.

I replaced the belt recently on an old Technics turntable and now the speed is noticably inconsistent. I ordered (supposedly) the correct belt for the model. What are the possible causes?

2 possible causes:
1 - the belt slips - take it out and clean the drum and the motor pulley with alcohol.
2 - when you have installed the belt you have accidentally misaligned the speed sensor - take the drum out and check the contacts at the sensor and its position.

How do i put turntable belt back on?

you must first get the platter off [the bit that you put the record on ]
this will prise off with equal pressure on both sides but remove the rubber mat on the platter first [it might have a little clip on the centre spindle if so just get a screwdriver and push the clip off ] then just jiggle the platter with your hands until it frees , when off you should see a small round disc thats connected to the motor that turns the platter via a rubber belt , you just connect the new belt around this and then connect the other end to the platter very fiddly , not being familiar with kenwood turntables i could be totally wrong here and the belt might go to another pulley in which case you might need more than one belt , your best bet is to get the platter off and let me know what it looks like
