THERE IS a way to fix this... it's somewhere in the settings and has to do with how you have the DVD player setup, but I CAN'T REMEMBER HOW to fix this. It's doing the same, exact thing to us, right now, and I should have a sheet of paper, framed on my living room wall at this point... this is the third time it's done this to us since we've owned it.

The solution isn't cords and such, though... it's fixable with your remote... keep looking online, and you should find the fix. If you do, post it, here, so I can use it as well. Sorry, I just can't remember what it was that I had to "enable" or "setup" or whatever... it'll come to me.

Try this link! It might be in the way your "stereo" settings are right now.

Panasonic dmr-ez27 I just hooked it up to my 32"

TV's.

I work for an electronics store in Australia, and had same problem when running this DVD player on my Samsung KA40A650.

I tried it on my brothers LA40M51 and the same thing happened. Tried it at work on the A650 display model and same thing again. Then I tried it on the LG LCD that was next to it, and no problems. Also tried the DV-S5950 display model at work and it did the same thing.

It's not a general Yamaha issue, as we bought a new (higher model) Yamaha DVD player and it worked perfectly fine. I also tested the cables, and it wasn't them either.

It seems that that specific model of DVD player from yamaha just doesn't like the HDMI inputs on Samsung TVs

try tighting the screws on the inverter. they sometimes get loose and then you lose the grounding.

Compatibility with Samsung LCD Display

It sounds like the HDMI port on the back of your Marantz is damaged. if you know for sure that the HDMI port works on another tv still you might just use component connection because the visible difference between component and HDMI is not very recognizable.

DVD picture flashes on & off

our problem was because the hdmi on reciever was not compatable with hdmi on dvd player, different versions ex. 1.2, 1.3 , 1.1
ended up using component inputs instead

Hdmi not working

You need to set up the out put of your DVD player. First hook up a non hdmi output to the tv, either component or coax. You don't need to hook up the audio. You should get a picture from this connection. Then you can go into the menu and set your hdmi output to match your tv, probably 1080i. You may have to turn your volume up higher when using the hdmi cable than not. I hooked my audio up directly to a surround sound and don't use the tv's speakers.
