When i turned on my t.v. the screen was split right down the middle. Were the left side is fine but the right side looks like a negative from a photograph. Ran a self diagnostic test and it said everything was o.k.
Do you have any suggestions to what this could be?
Each half of the scren has its own processor and driver circuits for driving the screen. It is possible that one circuit is malfunctioning, giving the above sympyoms. The set will have to be taken in to a service centre.

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. it is possible that either the lvds cables connecting the mainboard to the lcd panel are destroyed somehow or either the
Lcd panel itself has the problem could you provide some extra info a photo maybe so i can be more helpfull
Check the site linked below, and compare the screen shots. It has many kind of defective screen-shots to plasma displays. Compare them to that of yours, and make sure about the faulty board or others. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Most LCD and PLASMA sets use two boards (some combine them into one board) that drive the Display Panel (the entire front screen unit) so I would suspect one of yours is bad.
The other unpleasant possible cause is where the left board is connected to the Display Panel (entire front screen unit) you have a problem inside that Display Panel and that is fatal as there is no way to get INSIDE the panel---it can cause both lines and a dark picture on one side of the screen.
This may be due to a faulty Timing Control board (TCON board). I had a similar problem with my Samsung LCD TV picture being split vertically down the middle. The image on both halves appeared fuzzy and in reverse (mirror) including the menus. I replaced the TCON board and the problem was resolved.
that sounds like your LCD controller, since the LCD screen is so big, they will "split" the screen into 2 smaller screens, otherwise it would be so outrageously expensive to have one big massive lcd controller. Your lcd controller is most likely a two-in-one card though, meaning that there are 2 controllers on one board. You'll more than likely need a new controller card for your tv.
