hello. try this. open your web browser and type in adress link = 192.168.1.1
this will take you to your rooter's configuration page. search for wireless settings tab or somethign like that and from there you can enable password protection.
ps: when you type 192.168.1.1 it will propably ask for a password. I hope you have the password for that. If you dont remember it try username: admin / pass: admin which are usually the default.

My Dell 2350 router was working fine and was password protected. I must have messed up the settings because now it is no longer password protected (I can tell because the padlock next to it is now gone.)...

Hey!

Looks like someone pressed the reset button on your router which caused it to go back to it's factory settings that's why you lost the password.

Click here for the user manual regarding network security setup for your Dell Wireless Router.

Hope this helps! :D

Pasword protect my router how?

There are two kinds of password protection for your ROUTER;
(1) The Web Interface can be password protected by changing the default password
(2) The Wireless connection password (encryption)

Which one do you want enabled to protect your router?

How can i passwpord protect my wireless connection

Re-do the "configuration" -- there is an option for 'SSID' and "pass-phrase" and "password", after you choose 'WEP' or 'WPA' or 'WPA2' as your "encryption" method.

How do i set a password to protect my wireless internet

Access the Router's page and go to Wireless configuration. You may assigned a WEP key that uses hexadecimal value (A-F, 0-9). So if someone attempts to access your Wireless network, they will prompt to enter a Wep key.

How do i password protect my router from outsiders connecting

Hi, check out the support pages here:-
http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/DG834G.asp

Select your model (v3,v4,v5 etc) then look at the setup pages. Set your security to WPA rather then WEP as this is easily crackable, and with WPA you can choose the password. You should also change the routers admin password to be extra safe.
Let me know if you need anymore help.

How do i password protect

You need to configure password protection using D-Link router configuration. Do you have the manual handy with you, alternately you can give me your D-Link model no. I'll hunt for it.
