Question about Intellinet Active Networking Computers & Internet

Open Question

I have an Intellinet 150N (52445) that was sold and installed by a service tech. He did not use the installation disc, but went into dos, and installed from there. My router works, but loses connection to my satellite modem at least once a day. I have to disconnect both, then reconnect. My computer forum advised me to change the channel, which I did. I went from 11 to 6. If possible the disconnect is worse! Do I keep trying other channels or is there another solution? Thanks

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Router seems to drop connection frequently

What a static ip is, is the ip address that the router automatically assigns to other equipment. (computers, xbox, ect.) Find D-links customer support line for help.

SOURCE: Router Connectivity

It will be one of two things or both - either your computer is not setup for DHCP or your router is using the same IP address as your ISP or both.

To check ISP IP address connect your computer to your modem then: from start => run => CMD (hit enter after this)
a command window opens, type "ipconfig /all" without the quotes.
The line with "IP address" gives you your ISP IP addr.
Compare this with what you get from your router manual if they are the same then do the following:

To configure your computer to use a DHCP IP address, go to the Control panel => network connections => Properties (right click on your default connection) => double click Internet protocol (From general tab) => (a new window pops up) from the general tab ensure that "obtain an IP address automatically" is selected.

To change the IP address of your router check your manual and do the following:
IP Addr =>
Sub net mask =>
Default gateway => IP address from your ISP
Make sure to the router is set to act as a DHCP server.

You should be up and running.

SOURCE: Belkin router problems with RCA modem

Do a powercycle. Make sure to completely turn off the modem, router, after 30 seconds, turn on the modem first then the router.
If that will still not work, perhaps there is a need to update the software of your router.

You can get the latest firmware here:

I don't think that it is a problem with your IP address settings.
I would disable all security temporarily, just to see if that makes a difference.
If you are using Windows Vista, take a look at this post and see if that could be one of the underlying problems.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

We purchased the Intellinet 150N-4 Port Router a couple of months ago. It was working fine up until last Saturday afternoon. I called our IP and they re set our modem and we still couldn't get...

The router comes with a lifetime warranty however Intellinet does not offer phone support but rather a ticket submission system on their website. It also refers you back to the reseller to get technical assistance. Normally you can get free technical assistance from all 3 parties the manufacturer, Internet Provider, and the Re-seller. You may just want to return the item if you still can. Quite a few other brands offer free technical assistance Netgear, Linksys, D-Link, etc... Seems more like the device is the issue here. If you can exchange and get a new router, I'd be happy to walk you through setting up your new router as well.

P C does not recognise intellinet wireless 150 N USB adapter because it does not have microsoft logo approved is it safe to install

It just means that the manufacturer neglected to do some safety protocols when they designed your USB Adapter. You might have trouble obtaining proper support with the Windows operating system, if that's the case just reinstall the drivers from the manufacturer's website.
