I just took my Compaq Armada M700 all apart to replace the fan/heat sync. Now I get to put it back together, which so far has been easy. Reverse the order. You know when you take something apart and after you put it back together and you have a handful of screws left? But everything still works okie dokie? Well. I got the RAM back in, etcetc and all of a sudden I see this connector cable (the longest one on the mobo and I can find NOWHERE to connect it! The one end connects just above the PC card assembly (there is no PC card in this laptop). NO clue where the other end goes, there isn't a place for it!!
I can take apart and put back together any desktop system, with my eyes closed. Well, maybe in my sleep. The closest I have come to taking my laptop apart was replacing the keyboard. Soooooo....HELP!! Where does this connector go?
(Anyone know about Toshiba Satellites?) That would be for another day. I bought one that is a very nice looking system, but it won't power on.
Thank you!!

It connects to the external microphone jack, if your system is so equipped. Mine isn't. So it was just there, tucked in out of sight until I saw it! I love that Compaq so I was thrilled to find that out!!
Thank you for answering anyhow. At least I know if I have a problem, it will be answered soon. When I dig into the Toshiba, I will NEED help!
