Dell My 7 year old dell inspiron goes slow for some reason after I installed the service edition windows XP 2002.

You will need to know the operating system or model number to determine which version of a Mavis Beacon product is compatible with the Inspiron Mini. The Inspiron Mini 9 came with Windows XP. The Mini 10 1010 could have XP, Vista or Windows 7. The Mini 10 1012 came with XP, Windows 7 or Ubuntu Moblin. The Mini 12 1210 came with XP or Vista.

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing v2 , http://www.broderbund.com/p-952-mavis-beacon-teaches-typing-powered-by-ultrakey-v2-personal-edition.aspx , should work with Vista or Windows 7. This is the current version and works with Windows 8 and Windows 10. Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing version 18 and version 20 Platinum both work with XP and Vista.

Hi,

The latest service pake for XP is SP3, you can download and install it by performing a Microsoft Update by clicking on the the start menu and above where it says "All Programs" look for Windows/Microsoft Update.

Once SP3 is installed i recommend you perform another MS update to update SP3.

You have had Win 7 for TWO YEARS? Hmmmm well anyway thats the problem. You see Win 7 and games don't MIX, the only way may help is to run in compatibility mode for XP SP2, and Run & Install as Administrator.

Hey, just use Zinstall XP7. It can upgrade to Windows 7 and keep your programs and files and everything. No reason to stay on XP, I think - 7 is awesome

See if you can go into safe mode by hitting the F8 key right after the dell splash screen and right before the XP splash screen comes up. If you can get into safe mode try to uninstall the rangeplus adapter and try reinstalling again after rebooting the system normally.

You can contact Dell Technical Support and see if they will send you a new XP CD. All the drivers can be downloaded at Support.dell.com for that system. If you can't get Dell to replace the CD, try Ebay. Here is an Example:

it sounds like your most likely having trouble with the hibernate feature try this
start>>control panel>>power options>> click on the hibernate tab
un check enable hibernate mode
this should fix your issue
