All across the screen a lot of black colored dashes are appearing. everything is fine but these dashes doesn't look good

Try selecting Auto Adjust from the monitor's on screen display. Should be accessible from the buttons on the front of the monitor.

Also try downloading and using the latest drivers for the monitor.

Also try checking the monitor's technical specifications and making sure that the refresh rate on the computer is set to the optimal refresh rate per the monitor's manufacturer.

Tip

Screen goes blank after POST

If this problem occurs, it's usually after a monitor upgrade from CRT to LCD.

You're booting your computer, everything looks fine. The POST completes, Windows is starting up, then... Black screen.

You know both the card and monitor worked during the POST, so they must be functioning. So what changed?

Chances are the 'Refresh Rate' is set too high for the replacement monitor.

Put the old monitor back on and reboot.
  • Right Click the Desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced
  • Click Monitor
  • Lower the refresh rate or set at optimal
  • Check the box 'Hide refresh rates this monitor can't display'
Shutdown, Switch back and try it now.

Good luck
Mike

I was adjusting resolution, screen went black. How do I get my desktop back?

All you need to do is use the menu button on your monitor and set it to Auto source detect. It may be set to some res higher than it can handle but it should scale and also tell you the optimal resolution for the display.
Good luck!
