The printer is not printing the same colours that are on the screen

How different is the color from the printer with the screen? If, you can see yellow, but the printer prints a shade of green, then your ink (particularly the cyan color) may be leaking. Check your ink cartridges if there are leaks. If there are none, try printing blocks of colors and see if the colors match with the screen. If they don't match, maybe try using a different monitor and see if the problem persists.

Have an HP laserjet cp2025 - the printing comes out faded although the test page prints fine. What's happening?

sounds like you either have econo-mode set which would be in the printer driver or your screen colors do not match your printer colors. Your easiest test is to open mspaint and create a block of just one basic color like yellow. If it prints fine then the programs you are trying to use are not sending the right color instructions to the printer. Never expect a low end color such as this to match your screen out of the box, it will not happen. You either have to accept the color difference or spend the money to buy a color matching device which creates custom drivers for your printer and screen so they look the same.

When I print color with my Dell 3100cn the color does not match what I see on the screen. I somehow need to make what prints match the monitor. HELP!

In general the color on the screen is never exactly the same as the printer. You will have to play with the colors on the screen and test the output to see if it is what you really want.

There is no Gray, it is Green gray. Photos are not what is seen on screen, Need calibration or something.

The colors on your computer monitor might differ from the device output. Select Screen Match in the Color tab of the printer driver.

For most users, the best method for matching colors on your screen to your printer is to print sRGB colors. The printer uses sRGB and automatically optimizes color output.

When printing photos, the tones are off, e.g. teeth that we know to be fairly ''white'' appear very yellow. Is there an optimal color combination setting for photos?

You can download the basic color match software from hp, the problem is due to the fact that the color schemes used do not match, the printer prints using cmyk, and what you see on the screen is RGB. using the basic color match software you can create your own color palette and the printer will recognize the new values.

Trying to match color between photograph on monitor to printer. OS is Vista.

The only way to get color matching with the solid ink line 8400, 8500, 8550, 8560, 8860. Is to build you own colors with the CMYK sampler printout.

Beware this will print over 50 pages of swatchs showing the mix of CMYK for various colors. Your can then look at the color you want and see how it's made up i.e. 30% 30% 40% yellow gives a orangish color. You can then build these colors and name them in your application.

You will NOT get Panotone color matching with the solid ink series.

Screen colour not matching the printed pages

Unfortunately that's the age old problem of matching colors between computers and printers. Your printer is probably not the problem, that's why he couldn't fix it. Even though your monitor is set to default values it doesn't mean that your colors are correct as colors can vary from monitor to monitor and the color temperature is probably too high causing the colors to look lighter than the printout. The picture on the monitor may look good to you, but it's not set right for matching printer colors. Monitors use RGB (Red, Green & Blue colors) colors and printers use CYMK (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta & Black) colors and you have to make them get the results you want. You will have to do some tweaking of your monitor's settings to get it to match the printer output. Below are some links that will help explain things better and maybe help you adjust your monitor.
