Can vary from the fuse , surge protectors and possible compoents in the SMPS, the swittch mode power supply.
So use a meter to check for short inthe SMPS, if so check after suspectng on the rectifier, the filter capacitor or the OSC/DRIVER output. If not on the primary side and all voltagesare correct, then a short onthe seccondary side can switch offf the SMPS with the feedback current limiter. If so you will need to check one by one to disconnect and find the voltage build up to center on the fault.

Some models do have an option to disable all the controls, including ON/OFF/SBY. E.g. Panasonic PTL720 has the option FUNCTION ON or OFF.
To reset the FUNCTION back to ON do the following, POWER ON/OFF toggle switch to ON, the RED SBY light must come ON. Press and HOLD the ENTER button and simultaneously press the MENU button for more than 2 seconds. The blower shall turn on and the RED SBY light shall turn GREEN. Projector is now ready for normal ops.

Projector only in stanby mode does not switch on

This projector provides two different remote control codes; the factory-set, initial code (Code 1) and the secondary code (Code 2). This switching function prevents remote control interference when several projectors or video equipment are operated at the same time.
When the projector is operated in "Code 2," both the projector and the remote control must be switched to "Code 2." To change the code for the projector:
Select either "Code 1" or "Code 2" in this Setting Menu.
To change the code for the remote control:
Press and hold both the MENU and IMAGE buttons together for more than 5 seconds. After changing the code, make sure the remote control operates properly.
Remote control
Press and hold MENU and IMAGE buttons for more than 5 seconds.
You can change the brightness of the screen.
High ...... Brighter than the Normal mode
Auto ...... Brightness according with the input signal
Normal ... Normal brightness
On start
Note:
•When different codes are set on the projector and on the remote control, any operation cannot be made. In that case, switch the code on the remote control to fit the code on the projector.
•If the batteries are removed from the remote control for a long period of time, the remote control code will be reset.

Optoma projector overheat issue - fan comes on but switches off

Most projectors have air filters. Yours may need to be removed and cleaned. No air flow = overheat.

Sharp pgm20x switches off immeately after switching on

It turns out that i fixed this issue, I opened up my projector and took a look at the board to make sure that there is nothing wrong. It turns out that the projector needed a good cleaning. Just use caned air to clean out the projector make sure that all the vents are clear and not blocked. (note: do not spray the caned air while the bulb is hot, if you do this the bulb can cause the pressurized air to temporary flame up, Please make sure the projector has had at least 30 minutes to cool off) While the board is off press the power button and the projector should power up. Replace the covering, and this projector will work.
