Green translucient vertical bar on left side of screen

I have a Toshiba 57H82 57 inch TV that is displaying a green translucent vertical bar on left side of screen, it's about 6 inches wide. All else works fine. You can see the picture through the green bar, it's just all green. any ideas?

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that the rest of the screen looks fine. The RGB colors are all on and converging correctly on the rest of the screen. I just have this green translucent vertical bar on the left. Since the TV has a built in test circuit, I was thinking maybe something from that circuit was being commanded to an on state or possibly leaking through.

If the TV is older than 10 years, the cost of repairs against how long it will play in the future might be a reason to get a flat screen

I think better to replace the set as all this sounds like a light engine failing.

48 inch toshiba with color alingment problem

Hello:

Thanks for this forum.

I have a Toshiba 48" rear projection TV which started to show red and green lines on the left side of the screen and have also started affecting the left-hand focus of the image shown on the screen. I have had this TV for 14 years and had a projection adjustment done once before.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

All color guns out of alignment

Needs convergence amps replaced. Sometimes resistors burn and need to be replaced. This repair requires soldering/desoldering equip. and a trained eye, but usually can be done for 175.00-325.00 at a reputable service center. Good luck, Russmann.

It sounds like one of the flexes on the LCD cube has either become unplugged/ loose, (there is a gate that locks the flex in connector on the DMD board), or flex damaged. Has the TV recently been moved or strongly jarred?

Green vertical lines on the screen

Sounds like you may have some bad filter capacitors in the convergence board. Better take a close look at them before they damage the chips. Good Luck
