Sorry my anwser can be in spanish or english only.-
1.- All the conectivity devices, have a fisical address, and this is called "Mac Address", and is unique in the World.
2.- So,your wireless router have ones, and each computers too.
3.- The ISP (Internet Source Provider), only permit the Mac Address of the First computer only, and It know only this, so the Router Mac Address is unknow for they, and the rest of computers too.
4.- But, you can configure the firmware of the Router, so it show to the ISP the First Computer Mac Address allways, and this you can do in Items "Lan Configure" writing "Clone Mac Addres".-
5.- So, the ISP don`t see the Router MAc Address, always will see the Firts computer Mac Address, and the Router share the Internet Conectivity with other computers without problem.-
6.-For to configure the Router, in the browser you must write the followen Ip : or samthing lake that, for this you must have conected your computer to the Router with an Ethernet cable with RJ-45 connectors.-
That is all.-

How to reset my router and what will be happen is theirs anything will need a pass word or what please help me thank you

Hello Sir,

1. How:
Find a pen or a paperclip or somthing very smal then
To reset your router you need go to the router find a litle hole and press it in hold for 10 sek then it will be reset to factory settings, if this doesn't work try holding it a little longer.

2. What happens:
passwords are removed, user settings are removed (like if a user is blocked from the nett he will now have access) DHCP might get started or stoped, both might be a problem bt this is depeding on your router and internett provider aso.

3. Fixing problems(If you have problems):
when you reset your internett router you might need to call your service provider (the phone/internett company) then you need to tell them that you reset your modem and the internett doesn't work. they will sett the DHCP settings to how it should be.

I am re-configuring my Belkin wireless router and ip adr is not accessable. I have connected my PC directly to the router and have internett access.

make sure your pc has an ip address in the range while you're configuring the modem (set a static one TEMPORARILY) to get access to modem. Don't expect Internet to work during this temporary situation for router configuration. be sure you change your ip (and DNS) settings back to "obtain automatically." Restart computer before trying to get on Internet again.

BTW, what are you trying to accomplish--overall; why are you reconfiguring your router? Will it stay on this network?

I turn the PC on and connect the wireless

This occurs with the vast majority of routers. Either upgrading the firmware of the router by going to the manufacturer's website, or getting a new router usually solves the problem.

Wireless internett porblem acer 4810T

This may be a problem with your ISP and not your computer. You say the same thing happens when you are hard wired to the Internet via a cable. Get a friend to come over with a laptop and try it on your cable. If it still has problems then it is the ISP and not the computer.

Call your ISP and let them know their service is not working. It could also be the router that is not providing a reliable signal. If that router is supplied by your ISP, have them replace it.

Please help me get my wireless settin

  1. I assume that you mean you cannot see your wireless network in the "Available Networks" list?
  2. Yes, there will be a switch on the laptop to enable/disable wireless.
  3. Is your router set to broadcast SSID? If it isn't then you won't see it in the list of available networks.

Was working ok, now cannot get online using belkin modem-router. Says I am connected to my network, "signal strength excellent" but no wireless connection. Using the Belkin Modem router I am unable to...

please try to reset your router.

on the back of the router there is a little hole where you can insert a pen or a paperclip. hold it pressed in for 30 seconds and then release.

wait 10 minutes and try to connect to internett again (after connecting to the wireless net ofc)

Changing frequency on wireless

Hi rogue,

the steps below is what i personally recommend to optimize the functionality of your router.

Note: You need to use a computer hardwired to the router to check the wireless settings.

1. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
2. Connect to the router by typing or in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
3. A window will prompt for a user name and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password".

Note: If it does not take password as the password, you might have changed it when you have run the NETGEAR Setup CD so please try other passwords. If you cannot remember the password, you need to reset the router and run the Setup CD to reconfigure it.

4. Click the Wireless Settings under Advanced tab.
5. Check the box under Enable Wireless Router Radio and Enable Wireless SSID Broadcast.
6. Click the Wireless Settings under Setup.
7. Change Channel (recommended are 1, 6 and 11).
8. Change the SSID to uniquely identify your network. You might have a similar SSID with your neighbor.

Note: Do not change the SSID if there are already other wireless computers that can connect to the network.

Other factors that you may consider when you are not able to view any available wireless network:

a. Switch for the wireless adapter is turned off
b. Distance between the wireless router and computer
c. Possible wireless interferences

D-link wireless internet

It is always a good thing to start the different peripherals in an order. First, you start your modem. Wait 30 seconds. Then, start the router; wait another 30 seconds; then the computer.
