SOURCE: jumper settings

There is no jumper settings, it is just a small bridge aside the bios Chip. you bridge the two pins and power to reset cmos.

A much easier way is removing the Cmos coin shaped battery from motherboar for few seconds, and put it back, this will reset Cmos the same .

Cmos battery swap for Abit IC7G, need battery model/location on board

Desktop motherboards, like yours, use a 3V Lithium battery. The most common one is CR2032, but any compatible battery (size/voltage) will do the job! You can always take out your battery and look for a replacement for it - model and details are printed on it's top.

The CMOS battery on your motherboard is located to the right of the memory modules, as shown in the picture below:

FSB400, Dual DDR400, SATA RAID, IEEE1394
ABIT ?Guru Technology

for the AN7
for the manual, go to this link to download
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/download/download_manual_detail.php?pFILE_TYPE=Manual&pMAIN_TYPE=Motherboard&pTITLE_ON_SCREEN=AN7&pSOCKET_TYPE=SocketA

do the following
on page e1 of the manula it says to clear the CMOS before installing a new mainboard..
if you feel there is sufficient thermal paste on the ehats sinbk, then leave it as it is.

first shut down the system, Remove the heatsink from CPU, carefully. Buy some thermal paste, Nexus TMP-1000 silver. Apply to the heatsink . Place it back.
Now, remove the RAM. Go to the CMOS settings via jumper, and reset -- you will notice two pins near the motherboard battery. You have to check those settings. Once done place the RAM back. The board should boot ok.

How can i reset bios on the fsb 1066 motherboard

Just look for the silver battery. Either remove battery and replace, or look for jumper (closest to battery with one pin showing, and two covered by the jumper) Remove the jumper and place over middle and previously uncovered pin, then move back to origional position.

Hope this helps

My ABIT AW8-Max motherboard is showing an error "83", the manual I got of ine does not explain much other than saying "save all data in stack back to CMOS"! I dont really know what i need to do to fix...

Error message: 83h, Save all data in stack back to CMOS. 84h. Initialize ISA PnP boot devices.
First try clearing the cmos jumper on the motherboard. You will need the manual to help guide you. If you no longer have the Abit manual for the AW8-MAX motherboard you can download it by opening the link provided below; http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AW8-MAX&fMTYPE=LGA775&pPRODINFO=Manual
Click on the blue arrow to start the download.
You will also need WinZip to uncompress the zip file.
Download Winzip @ this link; http://download.cnet.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10003164.html

Than you'll need Adobe reader to view the manual. Download and install Adobe @ http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/
Open the manual to page 2-8. Follow the instructions to clear the cmos. (Wait 30 seconds). Reset the cmos jumper back to normal. Boot you're system and press the Delete key on you're keyboard to enter the bios. Turn to page 3-1. Once the bios/cmos has been cleared the cmos resets the bios back to default settings. You will have to change some setting depending what is connected to you're motherboard.
When finished save and exit the bios. The system will auto restart. If you receive the error massage again than you'll need to replace the cmos battery. If after replacing the battery the error message still returns the last option would be to flash the bios/cmos with the latest bios. You'll find the bios file and bios utility/firmware from the Abit link below;
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AW8-MAX&fMTYPE=LGA775

Cheers'

Trying to install Windows XP SP1 onto HD with this Motherboard. System will not boot from HD to start install.

Make sure your IDE hard disk drive is connected to IDE1 port and that the data cable is fully connected. Also check the jumper on the IDE drive. If you are using only one IDE hard disk drive set the jumper on the drive as a Master without a slave. If you are running two IDE hard disk drives set the primary drive's jumper as a Master with a slave. Set your second IDE disk drive's jumper as a slave. The master drive should be connected at the end of the data cable and the slave drive should be connected to the next data connector. Than check your bios settings. Power on the system and press the Delete key every 2 seconds until the bios menu loads. See page 3-1 in your manual. If you need the manual for the NF8-V MB click on the link provided below and download it;
http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=NF8-V&fMTYPE=Socket+754
You'll also need the program Adobe reader to view the manual. Adobe reader is a free download; http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/
Once you’re in the bios go to page 3-4, Standard CMOS Features.
Follow the instruction listed for IDE HDD Auto-Detection. Your HDD should be listed here. Than see page 3-7 in the manual. Open Advanced BIOS Features. A normal boot menu for the Abit would read;
First boot device Floppy disk drive (If one is connected). 2nd boot device should be (CD-ROM/DVD-ROM). Third boot device should list your primary hard disk drive's (Model number). Load your windows CD into your CD-ROM drive.
Once the settings above are set, press the F10 key to save your changes and exit the bios. Your system will auto restart. Windows should begin to load.

Cheers!
Mike

Cannot open bios set up forgot bios password

Reset the motherboard BIOS. To do this:
1. Open your computer casing where the motherboard lies in.
2. Look for the BIOS jumper settings. It should be near the battery.
3. And there reset the bios settings. (To do this, refer to your motherboard manual.)
4. Once already done. Close the casing and power up your computer.
See how it works.:-)

Abit Fatal1y FP-IN9 Boot Problem!?

check your jumper settings. You can probably view jumper diagram online. Make sure all drivers are downloaded and up to date. Try placing windows installation disc in before booting pc. Also check boot setting to make sure hardrive boots second and cd boots first. Also make sure your hard drive jumper is set to master.

ECS P4IBMS Motherboard CPU Voltage Jumper Settings

I don't believe that there is a P4 motherboard that needs jumper setting to specify the CPU voltage. This used to be common for Pentium & Pentium II motherboards, & some Pentium III motherboards. But I have never seen a Pentium 4 motherboard that require this kind of setting.
Besides, I checked the motherboard's manual & I saw that there is a sub-menu in BIOS labelled "Frequency/Voltage Control". This should be the place where the CPU voltage should be set, & on most motherboards, CPU voltage & frequency are automatically detected.
