I want to hook up a turntable to my Nakamichi AV-500 but don't see phono jacks. How do I do that?

if your turntable has an integrated amplifier you connect it directly to any regular input like DVD or CD. If this is a classic turntable you need to buy external phono amplifier. It is a small box with phono inputs and rca regular outputs you plug your turntable trough this box to cd or dvd input of the receiver. Can be tube or transistor amplifier. price vary from 20 to hundreds dollars.

I am assembling a sony turntable and don't understand step 3. Using the ribbon, loop the drive belt around the motor pulley. PS-LX300USB model Thanks

Manuals and belt instructions here:

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=PSLX300USB&LOC=3

You would handle the belt by the ribbon instead of bare fingers so your finger oils wouldn't contaminate the belt. You stretch the loop of the belt over the drive pulley between the flanges to hook it.

ION TTUSB10 turntable plugged into Toshiba laptop,

Maybe the output is not good enough for line in on laptop try mic in, then double click the sound icon down bottom right where time is, goto options, properties, then recording inside of recording make sure all boxes are ticked so you have all options like mic wave stereo mix line and so on, click ok, now make sure what ever you have the turn tables pluged into is selected as your recording device and not muted try again, once this is all ok ., it should work. hope this helps. also make sure your software you use to record is also set up same. take care

Connect a phonograph turntable to a receiver w/o phono connection

you will need a little box called a pre-amp. This hooks up between the turntable and newer receivers without a phono input. A basic explaination & drawing of this type of setup can be found here

One cdj and one turntable

This is possible, by connecting your turntable to the Line Input on the serato box. Then just connect both to your LINE INPUT on your mixer, and set the controls on your Serato Software to LINE INPUT - NOT Phono.

Hooking on a turntable to a home theater amplifier

Hi timof, you need to get a phono preamp to hook in line with your turntable. There are lots of choices. Go here to get a cheap one online, or pay a visit to your local specialist HiFi shop. They will have them over the counter. The sky is the limit for this sort of thing. You can pay from $30 to $3000 for an add on box to do the same job. Good luck and happy turntabling:)
