Yes. I am looking for these specific drivers for windows 7. Why? Because I am taking the smaller 40 gig out of the machine... and adding the 500 gig into the computer... When I first loaded it, there was no sound, audion and the hard drive could not detect the modem in the computer. The answer was simple. New Harddrive, needed drivers for the System, and the properties needed for the Ghousted System to work on the new hard drive. I have a Back Up of the 40 gig information on my 1 terra byte. yet I want to transfer all of the OS, and system files on to the new partition on the 500gig. How do I go about doin it? That's why I needed the drivers. Cause the first time I did it, the drivers were missing. For audio, Modem, and Sound Codecs, which are specific to the system.

Am I to understand that you are talking about an OptiPlex GX280..and it still has the xp operation system on it it was made for ..than the drivers for it will be found here ..
If you tried to change it to vista ...Im not sure if you will find the drivers cause the support site do not offers but till XP...It does though offer drivers for other operation systems ...and if you need just select another one ..

If you need drivers for vista let me know and I will look for it ..but i am not sure if there are to be found or not ..
For windows 7 ..main drivers are loaded with the operation system ...image ..sound..and lan card ..

it seams that you will have to look for the drivers by the identification that windows labels the devices in the device manager ..Just go to device manager and right click on the device ..and after that properties and details ..
In here you have all the info about the device ..

Another way is to use a software like EVEREST to identify the devices and also it offers direct links to drivers for them ..
here is a link to it
just download and install it after you install the computer ..and open it will offer device by device ..ful specs and download location for windows 7 ..but ..remember to use the license key from the folder..
The last solution to not chace driver s on the internet ..specially if you are not used to do it ..(like me :)) ) is to clone the system and put it on the new hdd...use something like this ..but remember there are a lot of programs that does that making an image cd ..with the shadow of the installation you have ..
Anyway ..if I would be in your shoes..I go for a clean 7 usually installs sound and image auto ..and after that look in device manager and see what I have left ..and take them one by one into Everest and locate the drivers by the devices name ..on Google search ..It takes longer but you end up with a fresh clean install ..and the programs already updated..and no potential infections you already may have ..
