I cannot get into the bios

To enter bios would be ether Delete button or F2 when computer starts to boot. if you see windows screen it is past where you have to keep on pressing one of these 2 keys. Start to boot and keep on pressing Delete key and if it does not load bios set up try F2 key. Hope this helps.

When I start my computer (a 1 month old Toshiba laptop with Intel i5 core processor that came with Windows 7) it pauses on the prompt screen and then error message "error sending end of post message...

This is usually a BIOS error. In order to fix this you must either perform a system recovery(perferred), or simply restart your BIOS by following these instructions:

System Restore:
1) Go to the start menu.

2) Go to "Accesories."

3) Navigate to the "system tools" sub-folder, and click "system restore."

4) Follow the on screen instructions, and select a date before the problem starter occurring.

If that doesn't work,

Resetting BIOS:
1) Restart your computer.

2) Press the "F2" button while your computer is booting up over and over again until you arrive at the BIOS setup screen.

3) Press "F9" to reset BIOS.

4) Press "F10" to save your previous BIOS settings.

5 . Choose the "Enter" key to save all changes and exit the BIOS screen. Allow your laptop to restart for BIOS settings to reset.

I want to wipe my hard drive completely, and i downloaded dariks nuke and boot. but i dont know how to open my bios and do it. so how would i go about opening my bios? i own a dell inspiron 1525

To get in to bios you have to reboot and once screen turns black keep on pressing F2 key but dont hold it down but tap it and it will bring you in to bios menu. Some dell's use "Del" (delete) key so if this is the case just do same thing instead of tapping F2 just keep on tapping "Del" key. This will take you into bios. If this daris nuke does not work just put in your windows cd and reboot and on black screen just keep on tapping key F12 and this will ether give you boot menu to choose form and you need to choose cd or dvd rom or sometimes it will go in to it right away and it will say "press any key to boot from a cd-rom" so you can press any key on keyboard (like space bar) and then choose option to install windows and not repair, choose delete partition which is usually like couple screens(one is letter L and one is just delete) and then choose install windows and choose quick or normal format. Once formatting is done it will start the new install. Good luck.

Inspiron laptop clock incorrect

Go into the BIOS by turning on the laptop and pressing F2. In there i believe on the main screen you can change the time and date. Do that, save changes and exit and then go into windows and see if it keeps the right time and date.

Let me know how it goes.

Receiving PXE-E61 media test failure/PXE-M0F exiting intel PXE RO

If you get this error in a black screen before windows xp can boot up....
CLIENT MAC ADDR: xxxxxxx GUID: xxxxxxxxxx
PXE-E53: no boot filename recived
PXE-MOF: exiting intel PXE Rom
Your network card's settings in bios have somehow been changed. PXE means Pre-Execution Enviroment. In other words, it allows your network card to connect to a network server to pull operating system images off the network and other files without having an operating system installed.

The Fix,
Go into BIOS press F2 or F12 whatever your PC's screen at bootup says. In Bios, reset your bios settings to the default bios settings, or original settings. This fixed my problem with the above error. Nothing else fixed it. Windows Recovery cd will not fix it, because you cannot boot windows if this error is still occuring, Your network card will keep prompting DHCP to search for a network.
Its a bios function not a windows function.
