Your blue LCD panel is shot. You need a new light engine to fix this problem. The part cost is fairly high (and the fact that it will just happen again and again), you may want to shop for an upgrade.

Blinking of the lamp light indicates that the lamp has to be replaced. However, the blue spots may be due to the optical block issue. To confirm this try connecting a different video source and check.

Blue patches on screen - samsung plasma

I'm afraid to say this is probably a problem in the prism. The prism has 3LCDs on it, one for red, green and blue. You can get blue patches if one starts to burn out. If it this, it is not an easy or cheap fix.
Could I just confirm that this is a rear projection TV?? (Its in that catogory)

Replace the video board, if you can find one. Letting it cool down will not help any.

Blue patches on my samsung lcd Hd 46 inch rear projection tv all the time seem to be getting worse. What is it and how can I fix, last time it cot me $698 to fix another part.

Uh Oh! blue screen of death. Your light engine has warped a little from overheating and is distorting the picture.

Make sure it is getting good ventilation and the fan filters are clean.

My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with hitachi and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.
Hope ya fix it!

Screen trouble

This could be clusters of dead pixels in the monitor, although there is nothing that can be done as the screens are normally too costly to replace.
