Larry, I think you are talking of your car. I was not sure as the question happens in the Google Internet. Anyway, please tell me the exact problem clearly. What I understand is that even after changing all these parts the wngine does not start. And it does not even turn with the starter. Please clarify.

New starter means the complete starter assembly or just the motor???
If it is just the motor then it could be the Bendex that has gone. It is the small part placed on top of the starter to pull and push the starter pinion. This pinion has to engage the flywheel and turn it. Once the engine starts this pinion retracts when you release the ignition key. If this is bad then the engine will not turn. It can be repaired or replaced depending on the damage caused to it. But it is a professional job that should not be undertaken at home unless you are well conversant with it.
Most likely it is this part causing the problem.

It appears that the key contact is broken - nothing is connected there, it's like the key isn't turned. Simple test - remove all the wires to the key switch and hotwire them.

In that case the key switch is probably fine (test it anyway). The wiring is completely messed up - start by checking the harness under the dash.

As i said you must check the wiring harness under the dash - some wires are broken or disconnected there.

I have 2002 pt . I have no problem with it, started it and put in gear, went to pull out and it shut off, now it won,t start back up, put new battery in, new switch, still nothing,

Possible starter failure if the engine doesn't crank. You can try tapping on the starter motor using a blunt object while turning the key to see if it starts. If it starts, suspect a defective starter motor. If it is a manual transmission, you can push start it in gear

Car won't start and starter is only making clunking noise

You can take out the spark plugs, keep track of your spark plug wire order, try to crank it over see if the engine turns over.

Check voltage on your new battery, some need to charge when new.

check for corrosion on the battery and starter cables.

Check under the surge tank near the battery or in a box with all other relays.

85 Chevy Surburban 6.2 diesel. Won't start. We charged the dead batteries and tried to start it. It started cranking then made a loud thud almost grind sound. We replaced the starter solenoid and Still...

Could be internal damage. Put a socket and wrench on the crankshaft pulley and see if engine is seized up. The thud is worrying, suspect major damage if the crank won't turn all the way round. If you can't turn the engine by hand, you will need a new engine (or new vehicle- that is a pretty old suburban, almost ancient to be needing a new engine!)
If engine still turns by hand, have your starter tested.

I have a 1993 Ford Explorer. I have tested the starter and put a new solenoid on it. The battery has also been tested good. But when I try to start it all I get is a click.

try replacing the starter sokinoind costs 16 dollars and i conneted to the positive side of the battery ahs two battery wires connected to it and has one small wire wih two bolts that holds it on, and hard to change.takes about 5 minutes if that does nt fis it you have a problrm with the ingtion switch or the starter.
