Dismantle the motherboard, locate the nVidia chip, cover all surrounding area with heavy duty aluminum foil. Burn the chip with a small blow torch. Just circular motions and do not linger too long. Rationale is that the chip has detached due to the heat generated and you are now trying to reconnect it to the board. Hey, the set's already dead so no harm trying it, right? Sending it back to the brand reps will cost a bomb. In my recent 3 years of "burning" this chip, I must have rescued upwards of 120 laptops of various brands with similar faults with only 4% recurrence. Have fun trying to "raise" the dead.

  • Check your power cord & adapter.
If its working then check the battery, reseat the battery & check.
If available then check with another battery
If no, then remove the battery & switch on the PC in AC mode.
Check if battery charging indication or AC power on indication is glowing. if not then need to change ur motherboard.
If indication is OK, but could not power ON then check ur RAM for any loose connection or dust. clean & reinstall.
If still no display, connect an external monitor, check if display is comming.
If Display is coming then your LCD need to replace.

Sounds mad but had the same problem - switch it on with just the battery in - then wrap it in a duvet for 45 minutes (yes i know sounds mad) then switch off (if not already over heated!) Start up again and it should start normally - i did this as warrenty no good, HP usless, and it worked i was shocked! - Good luck :)

    Hi,
What processor u r using? is it AMD, with graphics card?
If yes, then It smees your laptop's graphic chip has gone faulty. get it replaced. hp parts are very costly, so go to a local repairing center and it will be fixed @ cheap.

Tx2000 hp laptop not booting up, all lights are on green except amber light from wireless button

Do you get anything on the screen at boot? When you removed the HDD did you test it? It powers up, but will not boot correct? Fan spins, LED's Blink? Battery charges? Can you get to BIOS or Boot Menu? Can you do a Restore/Recovery? If you insert a repair disk into the DVD/CD rom drive does it respond? Take a look at HP support page: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentSubCategory?tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0001&lc=en&product=3658348

Ihave hp pavillion dv7 1245dx when you power up it acts like its locked in hibernation everything is on and the cap lights blink but the screen stays dark ...

Hi,

I suggest try to do a Hard Reset on your machine by removing the Battery, unplugging the Power Cord and after that Press and Hold the Power button for about one minute without any supply on the machine. After that put it all back in and see if still doing the same problem, If its still doing the same problem count the blinking lights on your caps lock it indicates what could be the hardware that's faulty on your machine then call the manufacturer's tech support and tell them that it gives you that kind of problem.

That's a very common issue with that model, You will have to reflow the GPU with a heatgun. You can find more info from http://www.msbin.com if needed.
