Question about Apex Digital AVL2776 27 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

TV Power My TV has been acting strange lately, intermittently it turns off by itself the green power light goes completely off. I figured out few days ago, that I have to unplug the power cord from the TV set then replug it to get the red power light back on. Then I can turn the TV back on. This situation occurs so often while I watch TV, it's very annoying! Any one knows what's wrong or what I can do to solve this problem please!

I have the exact same problem. Has the person that posted the power supply solution found a power supply?

Mine just started doing the exact same thing! I called Apex, they're no help..they just have you call a service center. Had that guy come over to take a look, he said he can't fix it until it totally goes out. I suppose I will try the fan in the back and see if that helps for awhile. Eventually I suppose it will need a new internal power supply. I heard Jameco has them...

My TV intermittently turns off by itself
the green power light goes completely off. As I unplug the power cord for a while from the TV set
and then replug it. As a result, I get the red power light back on so I then can turn the
TV back on. This situation repeats very so often in short intervals. Any one knows what can be done? Please?!

Mine did the same thing- At first. The power supply (which is an easily removed module in the back of the TV) was overheating, and so I took it out of the TV and placed a muffin fan in front of it, which worked great for about a year. Now the power supply burned out completely, so I am out shopping for one online...

Seems like your set now has a poltergeist in it after all these years. If set turns on an doff by itself and works erratically there could be a power supply issue since it supplies the juice for the various areas to do their thing. If PS is messing up, so will other sections of your set.

JVC tv i'art blinking timer

It is protecting you and itself with high probability.
Power supplies in modern electronic devices are designed to cycle if there is a fault in circuitry they are servicing and because of the design, also will not turn on completely if they are failing.

The older style of power supply was 'dumb' and unable to do this so could cause fires if the failure wasn't teh 'right' kind to blow the main fuse.

I agree with the manual; this is a job for a tech.

TV turns on at odd hours by itself

Hi, I had the "Ghost In The Machine". I tried out what I descibed in my original posting.
#1. I unplugged The Set.
#2. I pushed in and held in the power button in for about 5 minutes before bedtime. ( The PC trick I learned) I gave it 5 minutes because a tv set has much more power inside it.
#3. I again pushed in and held the power button in again for 3 minutes the next morning.
#4. I plugged the tv in again. The red standby light was lit. The set did not immeadiatly come on when I tried to power it up.
#5. 5 Minutes later I returned and hit the power button on the remote and it came on like nothing ever was wrong.
#6. It has been fine now for 3 days!!! Powers up when commanded and shuts down like normal. It has yet to come back on or act up as it was doing.
I will keep a watch on it and if it starts up acting again I will repost. I hope this information will be of use to anyone who experienced the same problem. It didn't cost a dime, just some patience. Thanks for a forum that people can exchange information and save trouble and money unless all options are exhausted. Bill
