My LG LFC25760 has stopped working. We have cleaned out the under and backside of the fridge. Unplugged and plugged it back in. After the first time it worked for a couple of days and now it has stopped again. The fan is working.

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.

If your refrigerator is running but warm, then…

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

I have a small Avanti refrigerator which I unplugged for about 3 months. When I plugged it back in it does not run or make any kind of noise. The model no. is 18CYC/YW/YB.

Possible that the starter is dirty not working. You can find this on the side of the compressor unit. Remove the mains power and check the wiring to the fridge, check the circuit as normally shown on the backside of the fridge. You can find the circuit breaker/starter, remove and clean

I have a LG refrigerator model no. LFX25960ST that stopped working. All my meats in the freezer defrosted and the upper fridge is also warmed. I can hear the fan running. I unplugged it and plugged back...

it is not a great idea turning a fridge off and back on straight away. It will overload the compressor and cause it to trip out. I would suggest that the starter relay has failed on the compressor but if the fridge has been left to cycle on and off too many times, it will damage the compressor. Turn it off and get a fridge tech to look at it and confirm the fault.

LG Design defect - Light stayed on and melted the fridge.

yes, contact LG for this known problem. it's a circuit board defect. the tech should replace both bulbs w/lower wattage, plastic bulb lens, lens surround and bulb sockets themselves. be sure to have your fridge model # and serial # handy.

LG LFC25760 not working

This error appears when the fridge goes into defrost mode (after a few hours of initial startup and therefore a sign that your PCB is probably just fine). Look into the thermostor in the freezer compartment (mine was bad, a $2 part from Radio Shack), the defrost heating element or the temperature sensor in the freezer compartment.

Refrigerator

The drain line that removes water after the defrost cycle is plugged. Instead of draining down the hose and ending up in the pan underneath the fridge, it is draining to the back on the inside, ending up under the drawers. Pull the pan out from the bottom, locate the hose that empties water there. Blow air up it. Compressed works the best. It may be plugged with ice as well, so turn it off for a little before you try this, to thaw the ice. If this doesn't work or you cant do it, then you need to remove the back panel in the freezer compartment, find the drain hole and stick something in it, like a piece of wire to remove the blockage. A good way to test this, is after you have found the drain hole, pour a little water in it, it should pour out into the pan underneath.

LG fridge suddenly stopped cooling.

If the fan inside the freezer is running and the compressor behind the fridge is running and is hot to touch, you have a gas problem or the compressor is inefficient. This can only be confirmed by connecting refrigeration gauges to the gas system and should only be performed by a fridge tech.
