I bought a non-working "parts only" identical camera from EBay for $25, and I was able to remove it's batt door. And was able to take to broken door off my camera, and replace it. Now, it's really small work, so I hope you don't have big fingers. You have to be slow and patient. The only tools I needed were one of those tiny "watch" screwdrivers, and a pair of good tweezers. Remove all the visible phillips screws until the back of the camera case lets you know its ready to come off. Fit tolerances are almost microscopic, so it takes courage and care to see what you have to do to remove the front cover also (another screw or two). I practiced on the EBay LCD-broken camera first. Now, the batt door has a hinge pin that you can then pull out with tweezers, but first study the tiny door spring to make sure you know how it goes back. Withdraw the pin and capture the spring. Replace the door, and put everything back together in reverse. In the process I was careful not to touch anything in the camera that's electronic for fear of electrostatic discharge from my fingers that might "fry" something. Feel gratified for having beat the "not user serviceable" Kodak camera repair industry. Saved maybe $75, plus didn't have to buy a new camera.

Where can take my DSC-W1/W12 Battery door

I have several of these little Sony cameras and had the same problem with the battery door not latching on or locking up. If you want an easy fix, just look for your camera model number on Ebay and some sellers actually sell the complete battery door. You can also buy a For Parts Only camera with the same model number and use the battery door making sure it is intact of course? I doubt you can find or buy a battery door through Sony any more, a repair shop would charge an arm and a leg for such repair and that is if they even have extra parts for a camera that old?
I fixed one of mine by cutting two small pieces of a sewing needle, yes i know it souds corny and all but it worked. What usually breaks on these camera battery doors is 2 small tiny plastic tabs that that latch on to 2 tiny tabs attached to the camera body, when the door tabs break off theres no way the door can lock and so it just hangs open. I decided to measure 2 pieces of metal, more like rods from a needle and heated the tip and pierced through the battery door matching those tabs underneath. You do have to be very patient and careful with this as you don't want to miss the angle where the original tabs use to be. I did fix my camera even though you can see 2 tiny metal rod inserted through the battery door but it held up real good and still working.

Battery door metall batterry connectors fell out

When you can't close the battery door as it should be closed, you can't turn on the camera. In almost all digital cameras there is a protection switch, that prevents the camera to work, with an open battery door, because the camera could stop any moment when the battery comes loose. When the camera was accessing the memory, when it falls without power, the memory can be damaged and you could loose all the pictures saved on the memory card.
I'm afraid, when the battery door came out, some things are missing, like a spring, axel and perhaps some other little metal or plastic things. To come out, some mechanical damage must be there, so it won't be easy to reinstall the door yourself.
Bet thing you can do is show it in a service centre and ask if it can be repaired and what it will cost.
Service manuals, with pictures about all parts, are only sold to approved repair centres.
The only chance to find anything, is on ifixit dot com, because they have manuals and videos of lots of electronic stuff for free.
Repair over there is on your own risk.

Battery door latch broken

Unfortunately HP will not sell you a camera battery door. If you can find another camera that is broken with a good battery door you may have a chance.

To repair/transfer the new battery door, you will have to use a small jewerly store screw driver that you can buy at the dollar store and use it to push the door hinge bar to one side of the camera.

Then, pull the door hinge out but be careful not to lose the tiny spring that is installed in between the hinges. ( Make sure that you know and understand how to put it back the same way.) You can then pull the battery door from the camera.

Do the same thing to good camera. Practice on the broken camera first. The second time it should go easier for you. When you install the new battery door, push the hinge bar in all the way to one side of the camera. Hold the door to give you the proper alignment and then use the small screw driver to pry the hindge bar from the one side to make sure that it is equally in each of the black hinge connectors.

This worked for me. I was fortunate enough to find someone who had a broken HP MZ67 digital camera that had a "good" battery door. It took me about 30 minutes to complete the job. I hope this will help you. You can email me if you need more advice. I am a computer tech.

I have a Canon SD750 Elph, I can't connect the cord to the camera to download the pictures to my computer. Where is the connector??

As you're looking at the back of the camera, there is a small door along the upper right outside edge, which opens to reveal the digital connector jack and an audio/video jack. It is just above the metal loop where you attach the wrist strap.

Battery compartment door won't close

Look on Ebay. Battery doors for most cameras sell for from $10.00 to less than $20.00 with shipping.
It sounds like the metal is oversprung as you mentioned. The way to fix that would be to remove the door by carefully using a small screwdriver (either phillips or flat, depending on the model) ... some cameras have screws which hold the door together with some small parts including springs, others can be removed by carefully prying the metal holders away to allow the door cover to slide off. When that is done, then you should be able to see the problem with the bent metal, if that is what it is, and proceed to level out the bent areas by bending to the way which is necessary.

Look for the switch on the memory card door of your camera. Usually a small piece of plastic on the door closes the switch when the door is closed. Check to make sure that the plastic piece is not worn down and is making contact with the switch. You can confirm that this is the problem by powering on the camera while closing the switch manually with a toothpick. Make sure you keep your fingers clear of the extending lens while doing this. If the plastic is worn down or broken off, try attaching a small piece of scrap plastic with super glue.

Are you talking about the sliding door that powers on the camera and covers the lens?
There is a metal plate with two screws on the bottom of the sliding door that holds the door to the camera, try tightening the screws and see if that helps. Or else see if the door is slightly bent out of shape, and try to bend it back if you can.
This is a common problem on the Stylus-300 camera, you can buy a replacement door from eBay -

Nikon Coolpix 2100/3100/3200 battery compartment door latch broken (again)

I just purchased a new battery door for $15 with shipping from nikon. They sent a simple assembly diagram and I was able to replace the door in 30 minutes. I used a dremel to cut the old door off, but you dont have to do that. I got a little impatient.

Just buy the plastic piece and u can reuse the metal parts for your old battery door.
